Part 39 My girlfriend is Monami Mahajan

Continuing from the last part,

After leaving the orphanage, Karan found a Indian restaurant and took Monami for lunch.

The dining room was vintage, with a small rockery view in the booth they were in.

"Kya tum abhi bhi Puja ko cake babana sikha rahe ho?" Karan asked Monami.

Monami nodded, "Of course. She's really generous with her tuition fees. If this goes on na then jyada time nahi Lagega mujhe apni khud ki dessert shop kholne me."

After Monami finished speaking, she suddenly realized that she had unexpectedly said something about her wanting to jump into a new job in front of the big boss!

She looked at Karan with a worried expression, but there wasn't any displeasure on Karan's face, "Maine Bala se suna ki tum apni khud ki dessert shop kholna chahti ho. It's a good thing for you to have a dream to pursue."

Monami blinked. "Tum sach me aisa sochte ho?"

"Well, even though I don't want to lose a good employee like you as Shergill's boss, I also don't want to restrict the employee's development. And, you're my girlfriend."

Monami pursed the corners of her lips into a smile, but said nothing to him.

Karan continued to say, "But main Aarav ko humare baare me bola hain.. By now, Puja should know about us."

Monami's eyes twinkled. She thought for a moment. "Does Puja like you?"

Karan pondered for a moment. "Mere parents ko lagta hai ki woh mere liye sabse suitable woman hain. But jaisa ki maine tumhe pehle kaha tha, my marriage isn't a bargaining chip for my career. I think Puja can understand what I mean."

He paused, then added, "I was afraid you'd be uncomfortable with her. Agar tum iss wajah se usse ab nahi sikha paogi then, I can make up for the loss and add it to your salary."

Monami was stunned. "You mean ki tum mujhe raise Dena chahte ho?"

"Haan."

"On what reason?"

Karan replied matter-of-factly, "What reason do I need to raise wages for my employees?"

Monami: "..."

As expected of the overbearing CEO.

She shrugged and said, "I'm fine, mujhe koi problem nahi hain but shayad woh ab mujhse sikhna na chahe..."

"I'll get in touch with her later, if she does fire me..."

"You don't need to compensate me. I already feel guilty for taking my current salary."

Karan could not understand, "Kyon?"

"Tum sach me nahi jante?"

"Har month meri salary jyada hoti jaa rahi hain.. "

Karan lowered his head, picked up the teacup and took a sip of tea.

Monami narrowed her eyes and sized him up. "Don't tell me tum secretly har month me meri salary raise kar rahe ho?"

Karan replied in all seriousness, "How could that be? It should be because your monthly bonus is increasing."

Monami looked at him and nodded with a smile that was not a smile. The waiter just happened to be here to deliver the dishes, so the two of them ended this topic.
