Fall Festival (NJxCA)

New Jersey walked through the festival, looking at everything. The fall decor, the clothes, everything. California had asked him out to take him to a fall festival and Jersey agreed. The western state was vegan, and he knew that much, so he decided to get Cali some pumpkin pie, with coconut whip cream on it.

Would New Jersey question why the state was vegan? Yes. Would be judge him for it? Slightly. Would he full on exclude him like the other states would? No. He understood why California didn't have many friends. He was an extreme leftist, very extreme. So Jersey just never brought up politics, simple as that.

Jersey was waiting for the tall bastard to show up, and Cali did show up, his usual outfit on. Jersey walked through the festival with Cali, as Cali talked about the history behind different religions.

See, Jersey was Universalist. Universal salvation, respect the earth, respect others, acknowledge his existence, don't be a dickhead. Basically just Christianity but less extreme. The Westerner, on the other hand, was Atheist. Which Jersey understood, as he was Atheist at some point as well. Hell, Jersey had been a lot of things.

First Christian, then Pagan, then agnostic to Atheist, and now Universalist. He listened to California talk, nodding along to everything. "You know, the cross was originally a Pagan symbol. It was used in crop fields, and Christmas was originally Yule, Halloween was also originally Pagan."

New Jersey let him continue to talk about religion and it's history, though most of it toward Christianity was just "It's bullshit, I don't understand, it sucks." which Jersey understood, but at the same time found it weird.

It was a lot of them talking about their religious background, and why they decided to stray away from their family's upbringing, as they walked together, eating snacks and drinking water. New Jersey didn't say much, listening to California ramble on.
