I plopped down onto my couch and opened my sketchbook, turning to an empty page I grabbed my pencil from the coffee table and began to draw.
Tae was at her moms and Mason was at daycare, I wouldn't see them until sometime tomorrow since Tae had to work tonight and she'd be taking Mason to her moms for the night, I volunteered to babysit him later this week since she had some errands to run.
My mom and Rylann were back at home, I was happy about that since Ry was feeling better even though she'd be wearing a cast for the next few weeks she decorated it with butterfly and barbie stickers.
I was here alone which was fine because I needed to spend sometime by myself, it was just one of those days for me. I wasn't depressed, I wasn't avoiding anyone or distancing myself; I just needed to be alone for a little bit.
I missed drawing in this thing, hell I missed art in general.
All of my art supplies were in the closet of the additional room I had here, I made a mental note to set everything up later today so that I could begin doing pieces for commission again to make some extra money, I also heard the a few days that some local artists were holding an art show at the art studio downtown in two weeks; so I needed to come up with an idea so that I could enter before the deadline.
I bobbed my head to Pussy Money Weed by Lil Wayne as it flowed smoothly through my airpods, the left over blunt I had rested on the rolling tray on my coffee table, I didn't smoke often but when I did it helped me express my art a little better, whatever I was feeling that's what I drew.
"I can be her religion, and now she's kneeling, praying to the ceiling." I rapped along as my sketch was coming to life, it was something simple, just a drawing of Taelyn but it was a distorted version of her with broken glass and a broken heart behind her. I also drew a blind fold over her eyes along with tears coming down her face. I guess it described the sadness and grief she felt at times. I then added a dove flying above her, the dove represented myself, a safe haven for her to be able to express how she felt and look to me for strength when she couldn't find it in herself, as I finished up I added my signature to the bottom of the paper like it did with every drawing.
Closing the sketchbook my phone vibrated beside me, I glanced down to see Tae sent me a text, I unlocked my phone and stood up from the couch reading over her message as I heading to my room. I tossed my sketchbook onto my bed before cutting on the bathroom light.
Taelyn😍:my mom wants to know what you want for dinner tomorrow. (say spaghetti😂)-1:15pm
-😂😂 shit, I mean I can go for some spaghetti 🤷🏾, garlic bread too?.-1:17pm
Taelyn😍: yess! it's baked spaghetti🤤🤤.-1:22pm
I was already hungry and talking about spaghetti made my stomach grumble, I didn't really feel like actually cooking anything right now and I needed to go to the grocery store, so I quickly found something to wear so that I could leave. After getting dressed and brushing my teeth, I ran a hand down my fade and grabbed my keys from my dresser, slipping on my dunks I grabbed my wallet from the island and headed out the door locking it behind me.
