Taelyn's court date was tomorrow morning, she wasn't her usual self, and it was a little concerning, we spent most of the day at home and I wanted to get her out of the house for a few hours.
"You okay mama?" I questioned as we stood in the check out lane at Babies-R-Us, we ended up coming here after picking up Mason from her moms. Taelyn's eyes peered over to Mason who was playing with a toy truck, pressing the buttons on it in order for it to make the lights flash, tears brewed at the brims of her eyes but she quickly blinked them away before looking up at me.
"I don't want her to take my son from me." She said as a sigh escaped her lips. I pulled her closer to me and kissed the top of her head, rubbing my hand against her arm so that she could relax. I felt like the entire situating was giving her anxiety.
"She won't, it's gonna be okay, everyone's going to be there for you and Mason, you already know that God is in control. Aight?, please try not to stress yourself it's not good for the baby." I said pecking her lips before we approved the cash register.
"I'm really trying not to, but it's hard not to think about it. I can't imagine Sheila taking Mason, even if it's for a few hours I'd be a nervous wreck." She said as I placed our items onto the counter. Taelyn moved aside so that I could pay for our stuff.
It was a few things for her hair, some baby stuff, and some clothes for Mase along with the toy car he grabbed. After paying for the items we thanked the cashier and heading out of the store, wanting to make her feel better I decided that we'd go out for dinner instead of us cooking.
"Where are we going?, this isn't the way home." She questioned as I glanced over at her.
"It's a surprise," I said as she looked over at me. "we're almost there." I said as she pulling her phone from her pocket. She chuckled typing away at her screen. I assumed that she was texting either Cam or Anastasia so I didn't bother her, glancing up at the rear view mirror I watched as Mason continued to play with his truck. I guess he my eyes on him because he quickly looked up at smiled before going back to playing.
"Really?" She chuckled with a smile as I pulled into the parking lot of Chili's, we hadn't been here in a while, but I knew this was her favorite place to eat. "Chili's! Oh my gosh I've been craving this so bad." She said putting her head in her hands crying.
"Tae, come on baby," I said trying not to laugh. "don't cry. We're gonna eat here and then go home and watch a movie as a family. Think of it as a family night." I smiled as she wiped her tears before laughing a little.
"You're so sweet Chris I literally can't. I'm sorry for crying, I'm just so emotional because of my pregnancy." She sniffled as I pulled the keys from the ignition.
"It's okay mama, come on let's go eat." I said as we got out of the car, I scooped Mason into my arms, he was rubbing his ear and I hoped that he wasn't developing an ear infection.
