It had officially been a week since I'd spoken to Chris. It was now Monday, and I missed him so much.

Grabbing two plates from the kitchen cabinet, I plated the chicken tacos and mexican rice for myself.

I then plated some dino nuggets with waffle fries for Mason adding a little ketchup on the side of his plate; these were currently his favorite thing to eat so I made them for dinner since he didn't like tacos.

Once I was finished making our plates, I walked over to the light switch that rested on the living-room wall.

Flicking the switch up and down the lights flickered on and off as Mason turned to face me, he gave me an adorable grin holding up his toys to show me that he was still playing; I just smiled at my sweet baby boy.

"I see baby!, Come eat your dinner, then you can play for a little longer." I spoke moving my hands as he got up sitting his toys on the coffee table, his little socked feet pattered against the wooden polished floor before he sat at his table.

I was beginning to think that he was moving into a new phase because lately he wasn't interested in Paw Patrol, he'd just ask to watch Cars or PJ Masks.

After saying a small prayer over our food, I poured Mason a cup of apple juice giving it to him, I then sat at the island beginning to eat, a bottle of Stella Rose red wine rested on the counter, but I'd open it once Mason went to bed of course.

I missed Chris, I wish he'd call or come over; something.

Mason was able to see the TV because I recently rearranged some things around the kitchen; as he watched the movie and played with his toys as he ate.

While he did that I started the next chapter of an urban novel I had been reading on my phone; the silence in the house was calming.

I smiled like a fool at my phone screen as my two favorite characters kissed for the very first time, this was my favorite book, but the writer hadn't updated in about a month or two so I was just rereading to kill time, hoping they'd surprise the rest of the readers with an update.

I chuckled to myself shaking my head as if I hadn't read this book already, this little app always brought me a little bit of peace after a long day, and I had a huge library of books to choose from.

As I finished up chapter fifteen, there was suddenly a knock at the door bringing me back to reality, my brows furrowed as I stood up slipping my socked feet into my slippers.

As I approached the door I looked through the peephole, and quickly unlocked it when I realized that it was Chris. His hands were in his pockets and he had an expression of his face I couldn't read.
