continuation chapter. 🫠
—-I sat in the passenger seat in shock at Chris's confession, unsure of what to say I just stared out the window watching the leaves of the trees blowing in the wind, some fell to the ground landing in the already created pile of orange leaves.
He pulled into the driveway of my house and pulled the keys from the ignition after putting it in park, my mind had finally processed what he just told me.
"Chris!," I said looking over at him with widened eyes. "W-wait oh my God!, you're serious!, but aren't you scared that what's happened coming back to you?, not like karma but you know? Jail?" I questioned becoming nervous at the thought of him going to jail, I would be crushed.
I was trying to keep a calm exterior on the outside, but on the inside I was freaking the fuck out. I mean yes, Desmond was a creepy guy but... nevermind.. Chris said it was an accident; so it was an accident.
"I was, but not anymore besides the officer that Jarvis knew covered it up for me, I didn't mean to kill him though baby I swear I didn't mean to, I'm not that type of person." He said sitting up in the drivers seat getting comfortable before speaking again."I was just so mad about wait he did to you, and as soon as I saw him; I saw red.. The things he was saying didn't make it any better. I just thought if I went to see him I'd be protecting you." He sighed before leaning back in the driver seat, then glancing over at me.
"Chris," I said holding his hand. "I appreciate you wanting to protect me, but I'm not sure what we should do about this." I admitted trying my best not to panic at the fact that my boyfriend killed the person that assaulted me.
What would a person really do in this situation? I thought to myself before hearing him speak.
"Just let it ride mama, l it's not coming back to me." He shrugged before pushing the driver side door open and getting out, I followed as he got Mason's bag from the backseat.
As I got my baby boy from his car seat he began to wake up immediately reaching for Chris, for some reason it always surprised me how attached Mason was to him, it's so adorable.
We made our way inside the house and kicked off our shoes at the door, Mason went straight to his toys Chris left on the coffee table as he and I sat on the couch, I sat indian style and took make hair out of its bun letting my curls fall passed my shoulders. The sun was setting and I'd probably make dinner soon.
"You look like you're thinking." He said as I glanced over at him.
"I just want to know how to process went, like what was going through your mind."
