Today was my baby boys third birthday and I was already crying

Today was my baby boys third birthday and I was already crying. I decided to have a small get together at Chuck-e-Cheese, and although Chris and I hadn't spoken in a while I still hoped that he'd show up.

I made sure to get Mason dressed a little earlier than I normally would since I had to run an errand prior to his party starting.

His birthday outfit consisted of a pair of black shorts along with a t-shirt that said "birthday boy." with a number three on the back. I got us matching shirts made with Paw Patrol characters on it since that was the theme of his party. I also got him some black and white Nike dunks to bring the outfit together, my outfit matched his of course, but my t-shirt said "mommy of the birthday boy."

I was so excited for today, I think I was more excited than my own child was, my smart little boy was another year older, I caught myself looking at photos when I was pregnant along with pictures of Isaiah and I this morning that had me in tears. I'm so grateful that God made me a mom, he's changed me in so many ways.

My phone had been ringing all morning with my family members confirming that they would be at the party, I invited a few of my coworkers that had children since we all were pretty cool, I also invited Sheila and Raheem just to be nice.

I just hoped I didn't regret that decision, the last thing I needed at my child's party was any type of drama.

After stopping at the bakery for Mason's cake I headed to Chuck-E-Cheese to finish decorating and paying the other half of my deposit for the party. I had to do overtime at work just to cover the rest of it; which I had no problem doing because it was for my little baby.

My mom was already inside of the building along with my Uncle Andre and my younger cousin Hope.
I greeted them all and Hope took Mason to play for a little bit.

"Please watch him Hope." I said as she nodded causing her natural blonde curls to bounce, I kept an eye on them before focusing my attention on decorating.

"Is Cam coming?" My mom questioned as I gave her a nod.

"She should be here in a few minutes, she had to pick Giovanni up." I said as I remained focused on organizing the table of goodie bags my mom made since I didn't have a lot of time to do it on my own.

My mom and I's relationship had been getting better and I was really happy about it. I really loved that fact that she had become really supportive.

"And Chris?" She questioned as I looked up at her, I shrugged slightly feeling my cheeks becoming warm.

I honestly missed him, Mason did too. I hadn't heard from him so I wasn't sure if he'd even be here.

"I don't know-"
