Voltron: Rise of the Grey Paladin

Chapter 3: Voltron Paladins Part 3

 Lance ran into the mechanical lion and everyone ran in after him but I stayed back and carefully approached the lion. Once we were in the lion the screen came on and Lance grabbed the controls and blasted off into the air. " Let's go!" Lance shouted right into my ear and I punched him in the shoulder.

"What was that for?" Lance asked and then Shiro got in between both of us before I could yell at him and said "OK that's enough" He seemed so calm in this scenario while Hunk was clutching his stomach and throwing up into a nearby bucket. I stepped away from Lance and leaned against the wall to the left of him as he was sitting in the cockpit chair. Then all of the sudden the controls were pulled from his hands and we skyrocketed up towards the sky and I lost my balance from the wall and fell to the ground.

I braced for impact but someone caught me before it hit the floor and I saw that Keith caught me as I looked at him I said thanks and started madly blushing as I got up out of his arms and as soon as I looked back at him, he looked like he was blushing as well. Then, finally Lance landed the lion in a cockpit within a castle. We all got out and as we entered the system scanned us and let us through as well as guiding us to an area where 2 pods were coming from the ground. The first one opened up and I woman fell out and Lance caught her and she then said "Who are you? Where is King Alfor? What are you doing in my castle?" and she backed away from everyone while bumping into the other pod that opened.

I man fell out more aware of his surroundings and jumped in front of the girl and said "Stay back princess I will handle this." Then Lance said "Hold on, all we know is that a blue mechanical lion brought us here." He said as he put his hands up. "Wait. 1..2..3..4..5..6.." She counted. "Coran check how long we have been sleeping." she commanded . Then he walked over to the control panel and said "Princess we have been asleep for 10,000 years!" she gasped and hugged Coran. "That means that Altea is really gone." she said while she was leaning against Coran and started to cry.

Finally she regained her composure and then stated "Please follow me." Then we all followed her but I quickly reached for my knife that was in its hoster to make sure that it was still there because I didn't trust them at all. All of this just seemed so weird everything about these last couple of hours didn't seem real at all. Then I felt someone touch my hand that was on my Knife holster. I turned to see Keith shake his head and then he said "I don't trust this either but we should at least hear them out." I took my hand from my knife and crossed my arms against my chest and continued walking.

We finally made it to what seems to be a control deck and then me and Keith stayed by the door leaning against it and everyone else walked into the room and stood there waiting for some answers. "Now that we have reached the control deck I will give you the answers you are looking for, My name Is princess Allura of Altea and this is my adviser Coran." she said as looking at everyone. "This is the castle of Lions and the blue lion is one of the 6 lions of Voltron. That blue lion has clearly seen that all of you will be the new paladins of Voltron" and as she said that a hologram of the universe appeared in front of us.

Keith and I both pushed off the wall from where we were both standing next to everyone else. Then the lions appeared across the universe and Alura began to say "The Black Lion is the decisive head of Voltron. It will take a pilot that was born a leader and in control at all times, someone whose men will follow hesitation, "That is why, Shiro, you will pilot the Black lion." As she finished her sentence a hologram of the black Lion appeared in front of Shiro. "Next, The Green lion has an inquisitive personality and needs a pilot of intellect and daring. Pidge, that is why you will plot the green lion." and an image of the green lion appeared in front of Pidge.

"The blue lion.." Allura started before Lance cut her off "Hold up, let me guess. Takes the most handsome slash, best pilot of the bunch." He said as he smirked at Allura. "The Yellow lion is caring and kind. Its pilot is one who puts their needs above others above his own. His heart is mighty and as the leg of Voltron, you will lift the team up." She said while looking at Hunk and a yellow lion was hovering in front of him. "The Red lion is the most temperamental and the second hardest to master. It's faster and more agile than the others, but also unstable. Its pilot needs to be someone who relies on instincts rather than skill alone. Keith, you will fly the Red lion." she said as the red lion floated in front of Keith. "Finally, the Gray lion is the hardest to master with its shyness and will only open up to certain people but is very strong and is the heart and sole of voltron. That is why Kenya, you will fly the Grey lion." with that the Gray lion floated in front of me.

"When you have found all of the lions and have brought them back to the castle the Black lion's door will open. With that you can form Voltron and defeat Zrkan." Alluran said. Hunk you will go with Lance to find the Yellow lion and Shiro you will go with Pidge to find the green lion. Sadly, I can't locate the Red lion and the Gray lion needs to be located by the new paladin." Allura said "Wait your telling me that the gray lion can only be found by me and no one knows where it is?" I questioned Allura and immediately regretted it. Everyone just turned towards me and I then said "Allura I'm sorry." as I looked at the ground. "It's ok Kenya." She said and everyone left, leaving Keith, Koran, Allura and I in the control room.
