Voltron: Rise of the Grey Paladin

Chapter 4: The Gray Lion Part 1

It has been a while since everyone left and Coran and Allura both told me to go meditate and try to find the location of the Gray lion. I thought I almost made a connection until Keith walked into the room. "How is it going?" He asked and I stood up and yelled at him " Well I almost had it until you walked in!" He looked at me in shock that I just yelled at him but I really was mad. He walked up to me, and we both sat down and he said "Kenya are you ok? You just snapped at me and earlier you almost snapped at Allura." I sighed and responded "Yes, I am fine, just a lot of information and I'm tired." Then we sat there in silence for a few moments and finally he said "Well I will let you get back to it." He stood up and walked out of the room.

Keith had just left and I had begun meditating again. I closed my eyes and began to focus on the lion. Finally, I heard a roar in my head and focused on that feeling. The roar was getting louder and louder by the second and I felt where the lion was but it felt that it seemed close to the red one and I finally realized that the red and gray lions were together. I ran out of the room and straight to the control room where Allura was. "Allura, I found where the gray lion is!" I shouted "What!" She also shouted. "Yep I sensed that the Gray Lion is with the Red lion." I responded. "Great everyone has found their lions and are heading back to the castle." Allura said clearly excited.

Everyone walked in including Keith, and Shiro began to speak "Princess the Blue, Yellow, and Green lions are all in their hangers and counted for. Is there any update on the Gray and Red lion's?" He asked. "Yes, Kenya has found out that the gray lion is with the red lion, and I have found out that the Red lion is on a Galra cruiser that is heading our way." she said. "Is that really a good thing?" Hunk asked. "Not really," Coran said as he walked into the room. "We only have about a day and a half left until they reach the atmosphere here on Arus." I stated.

Then as I said that a transmission came up on the screens of the control room. "I am Sendake, a high ranking officer of the Galra army. I recommend that you hand over the lions to me and this planet will not be destroyed. You have 24 hours to surrender the lions." And with that the transmission ended. Allura looked down at her feet as Coran tried to comfort her. "Well I personally think we should surrender them." Hunk said "I have to agree with you on this pal." Lance responded. I turned around to face them and said "We are not giving up the lions to him there, the only chance the universe has is to escape the Galra." Allura looked up and saw my determination and shouted "Enough. Kenya is right. I just don't know what to do, only if my father was around." We all looked at each other and Coran finally spoke "But he is my Princess. All of his memories are stored in the castle and you can access them." "Really?" She responded. Then Coran started to walk off and told everyone to stay put as Allura followed him. "Well that was interesting," Pidge said. "I could never have agreed more." I stated. Everyone took a seat but I wanted to see what was on this ship so I walked out of the control room and started to walk around the castle.

As I was walking through the halls I grabbed my knife from its holster and I looked at the complex engraving on the gray blade. Then, the figure jumped out in front of me and started attacking me with a sword in hand. It was a gray robot with purple lights and I immediately started attacking back. The robot managed to get a hit on my shoulder and I started to bleed as I fell to the ground and yelled.

Keith's POV

We were all hanging out in the control room when I heard a scream and my and Shiro both shot off from where we sat on the stairs and noticed that Kenya was gone. "What, why did you both get up?" Pidge asked. "Hold on, Shiro, where is Kenya?" I asked. "I don't know" he responded and looked at Shiro and I as we ran out of the control room doors and toward where we heard the scream.

We approached the hallway and we heard clinging against more metal and as we turned the corner we found Kenya who seemed to have an injured shoulder and a robot who had scratches on the sides. I grabbed my Knife from my holster and started to attack the robot until it finally fell to the ground and powered off. I looked over to Kenya who was holding her shoulder and leaning up against the wall. "Thanks. I appreciate the save?" She said as Shiro helped her off the wall and we made our way back to the control room.

When we walked in, Allura and Coran had already made their way back to the room and as we walked in Allura Gasped "Kenya! What happened?" She asked and before Kenya could say anything Shiro said "A Galra soldier had entered the ship and found Kenya and started to attack." Then Shiro set Kenya down and started to tend her shoulder.

Kenya's POV

Shiro had set me down and Had started to wrap up my shoulder. It hurt a little but after everyone had settled down and Shiro finished my shoulder Allaura made us follow her into a room that had 6 sets of armor that were colored according to the lion's color. Then Allura spoke up "These are your suits of armor that will protect you when you fight the Galra." "Alright paladins let's suit up!" Shiro yelled. After we all got into our armor Allura brought us to the front of the room and a case opened up and Allura spoke "These are the chosen weapons of the Paladins of voltron." Lance ended up with a small blaster, Hunk got a big Blaster, Pidge got a small electric grapple and Lance decided to make a snarky comment "Aww. It's small like you" after that Pidge hit him with it and Lance fell to the floor.

Keith got a sword and I got a set of daggers. Finally, when it came to Shiro's turn Allura said "Sadly the Black bayard was lost along with its paladin." "I'll manage." Shiro said while smiling. When we finished getting ready the castle alarms went off and we knew that Sendake was close by.

Hi, I Hoped you enjoyed and I really loved writing this chapter and for clarification the Galra Robot turned on when they entered the castle and has been there for 10,000 years that's why they weren't worried about it. Also, I am getting back onto a regular schedule and will be posting today and tomorrow to catch up on posting. Then I will return to posting every other week until I have written all of the chapters (I write all of my chapters before I post and I am currently on chapter 20 I think) I should start posting every week here in about 2 weeks.  BYE!!!!
