Chapter 6: The Gray Lion Part 3

We all tried and tried to move from the beam but couldn't. I looked toward the Ion cannon and saw that it was powering up but before I said anything it fired at the castle. "Allura! Coran!" I yelled as I waited for a response. We all fell silent and waited for what seemed to be like forever. Finally we got a response "Paladins we are all good here but the Barrier has fallen and the castle is exposed." As she finished her sentence we heard the Ion cannon preparing to fire. "Everyone listen up, we need to get out of this beam as soon as possible so push as hard as you can!" Shiro yelled over the intercom.

We all pushed really hard and I could feel the magnetism of all the lions coming together to form Voltron. Finally, it happened. The black lion folded up and formed the chest while the green and red lions formed the arms and the Blue and Yellow lions formed the legs. Finally the Gray lion folded up into a V shape and was pulled into the chest. "We did it!" Lance Shouted and Hunk then shouted "I'm a leg!" After everyone had realized what had happened we jumped into action and sliced the Ion cannon in half and then sliced the side of the ship and it came crashing down and fell into that surface dof Arus. "Yes!" We all shouted and we finally landed our lions in their bays within the castle. I got out of Gray and made my way to the control room for a debrief. After the debrief we headed to the lounge and I heard Lance and Keith talking but I ended up falling asleep.

Third Person POV

"Not me, as soon as my head hits the pillow I will be out like a light." Keith stated "I think Kenya already beat you to it." Pidge said as she pointed to Kenya who was curled up in a ball and fast asleep. "Should we leave her here or bring her to her room?" Hunk asked "I can bring her to her room" Shiro said as he picked her up bridal style and walked out of the lounge.

Shiro had Kenya in his arms when he walked by Allura and she asked "Hey Shiro what are you doing?" "Oh, Hey Allura, I was just taking Kenya to her room because she fell asleep on the couch in the lounge." He responded. "Ok, her room is up ahead on the right." Allura responded and Shiro nodded as he walked down the hall towards Kenya's room. When he entered the room it seemed bare and the only things that were there was a knife covered in bandages, a picture of Kenya and another girl that Shiro didn't recognize and finally a folded up blanket that had a printed image of the Pan flag. 'I didn't know that she was pan' Shiro thought As he placedKneya on her bed and covered her with the blanket. Then Shiro walked out of the room and turned off the light as he left.

Kenya's POV

*Dream*

I opened my eyes to see my mom talking off in the space pod that she fixed after landing here on earth. It exited the atmosphere and I could feel tears in my eyes and I watched her fly away never to be seen again. Then, everything faded to black and another event form my life appeared in front of me. I was almost 13 and me and my dad were walking down the street at a craft fair event. I tried to look away as I remembered this event and I immediately started to break down. We walked the street and no one knew what was about to happen. I heard a loud noise and everyone started to run the other direction.

'POP, POP, POP' I heard as my dad covered my body but now soon enough. As he fell towards me he got shot by a bullet that someone had shot towards the crowd of people. I cried and cried for what felt like hours until I finally jolted awake, I was covered with cold sweat and tears. I curled up into a small ball with my knees to my chest in the corner of my bed as I kept crying. Finally I pulled myself together and looked around to see that I was in my room with my pan flag blanket covering me. "Great , now someone knows I like all genders," I thought as I got out of my bed and walked towards the kitchen.

When I got into the kitchen I saw that Shiro was sitting at the kitchen table with a cup of tea and he was wearing a black tank top with gray sweatpants. "Can't sleep," I asked as I walked over to where Shiro was sitting. He wiped his head around really fast and saw that it was me before he relaxed. "Oh, Kenya it's just you." He said he turned around to face back at his cup of tea. I sat across from him and looked at what he was doing. "No, what are you doing up?" He questioned. "Um.." I said as I looked down at the table trying to think of something. "You don't have to tell me." He said all of the sudden and I looked up at him with a worried look. He gave me a soft smile and I relaxed. "No, I need to tell someone before it gets out of hand again." I said as I took a deep breath.

He had a worried look on his face as I began to speak. "Shiro, When I was younger my mom had left me and I was sad about that because she left for war and never came back. Then around 8 years later I went to a festival and.." I stopped and saw that Shiro was looking at me worried and I could feel tears forming in my eyes. "And after my dad and I were leaving someone started shooting and one of the bullets hit him and he died while trying to protect me." I said while starting to ball my eyes out. Shiro stood up and walked over to me. He pulled me close into his chest and I started to calm down a little. "So, you have had nightmares before about this." He asked. "Yes. Normally they go away quickly or don't affect much but this was different. It was like when it first happened." I said as I continued to hug Shiro.

"It's ok. It happens. By the way, both of your secrets are safe with me." He said and I looked up at him with a questioning look on my face. "Wait!" I said while pulling away from him. "You were the one who put me in my room!" I practically yelled "Shhh! And yes." He said while putting his pointer finger to his lips. "I understand the Pan thing." He said "I'm Gay so.." I looked at him in surprise "Really?" I questioned. "Yep" he said while smiling

Hi everyone I hope that you have enjoyed this story so far and I wanted to let everyone know that I will be changing some of the plot points so I wont write some episode but for know I plan on having Episode 2 and Episode 4 but not Episode 3 but everything will be the exact same as the show.
