Chapter 8: Form Voltron Part 2

Kenya's POV

Lance had apologized for what had happened in the last exercise and Allura had wanted to start another exercise and we ended up fighting a metal robot. Everything had started good Hunk started to rapidly fire his blaster and almost hit Lance and Pidge before he got hit and fell on the ground.Then the gladiator rushed towards Pidge who also failed to defeat it after that it rushed at Lance who got thrown into Keith taking both of them down. Shiro rushed towards the gladiator but froze before he got to it and just stared at it frozen.

I stood between Shiro and the gladiator and blocked it;s attacks with my daggers. Ultimitally, I was sent flying backwards and hit the wall really hard and Coran stopped the training sequence. Pidge rushed over to where I had fallen after she saw how hard I hit my head on the wall. "Kenya are you ok?" She asked, seeming a little frantic. "Yes, I'm fine." I said as I held the back of my head where it hit the wall.

Then Allura walked in and yelled "The level was set for an Altean child and there are 6 of you and you couldn't make a dent." Then she turned to me and asked if I was ok and I told her that I was fine and we left the training deck to get ready for dinner. I took a quick shower to calm down from today's events and put my armor back on. I had a pounding headache so I took an Ibuprofen and left for the dinner hall.

Everyone was already there when I entered and I gave Shiro a soft smile when he looked at me. I knew that he felt bad about what happened with the gladiator and Lance. I ended up sitting between Keith and Pidge and Coran walked in with Allura and placed a plate full of food goo in front of everyone "Ok everyone I saw a lot of great individual performance today especially from Kenya." He said and he gave me one of those parenting looks. "Um excuse me but people tested me all day physically and mentally while everyone else went through most of the things in a breeze." I said and as I finished Coran pulled a remote from his pocket and gave everyone a sinister look.

He pushed the button and everyone was handcuffed together. "Now you are going to get along and feed each other like a true team!" He said and everyone started to pull in different directions until Hunk spoke up "Coran I want you to think about what you are doing." he said as he made direct eye contact with Coran. Meanwhile I was slowly eating my food. This was pretty easy for me because I knew how to use both of my hands for everything like eating, training, and even writing when necessary. Suddenly Keith stood up, almost pulling me from my chair and said "You can't treat us like a bunch of toy.." Lance stood up and said "Like a bunch of toy prisoners!" "Thank you Lance!" Keith responded " You shall not speak to the princess like that" Coran yelled and Pidge stood up saying "Princess of what? We are the only ones out here and she is no princess of ours!" Then she was hit with a spoon full of food goo.

Then everyone but me started having a food fight and Coran was about to launch a spoon full of food goo at me until Keith blocked it with a plate. Everything went silent for a moment and secretly I grabbed a handful of goo and threw it at Allura and it hit her right in the face. After that I laughed so hard as everyone joined in Allura yelled "Enough! Do you see what you're doing?" And everyone looked really nervous until she got a nicer tone and said "You're finally working together as one!" Then a small conversation started until Shiro said to form Voltron and as we started to walk away we all fell because we were handcuffed together.

Coran had let us out of our handcuffs and we got to our lion bays to go form Voltron and I was really excited. Then when we all were in our lions we formed Voltron and flew around for a while because we wanted to have some fun after a long day of training and team exercises. When we made it back to the castle we all went to our rooms to get a good night's sleep. But when I was almost in my room someone grabbed my hand a Quickly ducked under them and ended up on the other side of the person. I looked and noticed that they were wearing black armor and that it was Shiro and I quickly apologized. "Not a problem. I just wanted to talk to you in private." he said and I led him to my room.

When we entered my room I sat on the bed and Shiro sat at my desk. "So, what did you want to talk about?" I asked and I already knew what he wanted to talk about. "It's about what happened in the training. Who was the girl in the picture?" Shiro asked and I looked at the picture that was sitting on the desk next to him. "That was my girlfriend and she was on a space mission and she wouldn't tell me which one but every single person that was there was presumed dead." I said and I felt tears in my eyes. " I don't know but when I first saw the picture I didn't know who it was but the more I look at it the more I feel like I know her." He said and I tried to think of a reason then I came to me.

"Wait, how many people were on the Kerberos mission with you?" I asked and he looked like he was trying to think and then he responded with "I think there were 4. Sam and Mat Holt, a girl named Madison Exe and me." My eyes shot up and I got up from the bed and ran out of the room and towards Pidge's room to ask her. 'Pidge would know her family was on that mission and she has been through all of the logs that were at the Garrison' I thought and I continued down the hall knowing that I could be close to finding my girlfriend and having her in my arms once again.
