Chapter 26

''Hmp-Hmp'' Edward all but spat out,clearing his throat.

I looked up from Jake's shoulder and saw his scowling at me.

''What?''I asked slightly annoyed.Edward could get really jealous,really fast too and most of the times over nothing.

''If I hadn't an access to the dog's head,Bella,so that I didn't know his last though was,he would be dead by now''

''God,Edward we were jus....wait!His last though?What was he thinking about?''

I looked at Jacob,only to see him looking away from me,a blush making it's way to his handsome face.

''He was thinking,how much he loves you and no matter what you'll always be his best,best friend''Edward answered my question.

I turned to Jake who was as red as a tomato by now.''Awwww,Jake you're so sweet''I cooed not helping it but letting the wide grin to reach my lips.

''I thought I made it clear to you to stay out of my head''Jake went on ignoring me and instantly tensing.

I wrapped my hands around him,and he flinched from my cold touch for the slightest second before relaxing.

''The council members are all here,so we can start''Edward said changing the subject.

Smooth,there Edward.

''Okay''Jacob and I said in unison and then turned to smile at each other,while Edward shook his head at us.

About ten minutes later we were all crammed in Billy's living room,and was about to start talking.

Edward came and took a seat besides me,I instantly pulled him closer and he gently took my hand inside of his ,squeezing it encouragingly.That small gesture,minor to everybody else,meant the world to me.Because all those little things were the ones that made him so special.

''So you all probably suspect why we're here''Carlisle's pronounced voice put an end to my thoughts,and for once was grateful because one knows how I get when I get started over Edward...

''Indeed we are''Billy replied in his husky voice. 

''Very well then,I'll go strait to the point...''Carlisle hesitated for a moment,his eyes flickered to Edward who nodded slightly,and then went on.

''We, Cullens ,want to ask you a favour. And before you jump to conclusions about us being fullish and illogical,let me explain.

Well as you know,there had been an addition to our family,though that little girl is not an ordinary one,as most of you know.She's unique,and probably one of her kind.

And that's what makes her so valuable to everybody and especially our kind's 'leaders' the Volturi.

We already have a place in our hearts for Lucaria and even maybe something more... 

And I wouldn't have asked now,if I wasn't aware of ,umh,the situation that came by.

Lucaria imprinted on a Coliquite,who has the right genes to turn into a wolf when the time comes.

Well,my point is that there seem to be a connection between you and her as well,so I've been meaning to ask you something.

Since the packs are involved,your scent is involved  too and that would really help..''

''Help on what?'' I cut Carlisle off,the words leaving my mouth without my permission.

He glanced at me and then looked strait at the Quileutes.

''I'm asking you to give asylum to Lucaria for a wile''

 Dead silence filled the room.Wait,what?She had to stay here?But then it clicked.Of course!
