Jacob's P.O.V.

''Hey Em,gotta something to eat?''I called to Emily,who was at the kitchen, as soon as I passed the threshold.

''Hi Jake,didn't think you would so up today''She said while placing a basket full of her infamous muffins in front of me.

''Ness and Bells are shopping at Port Angeles or whatever,so I've nothing to do''I said while stuffing my face with the delicious muffins.

''Eww,Jake gross! Don't talk with your mouth full''She scowled me,rinking her scared nose in disgust.

 ''Yes mom''I said laughing.''Speaking of which,where's our little fella?''I really liked Sam's kid,he'll become a great boy one day.

''He's in there with Lucar-''

''Emily,Emily!''She was cut of by the blond freak.Speak for the devil...

''What is it honey?Is everything okay?''Emily asked the blond one.In all honesty I'd started to like Lucaria.She was so cute,and those eyes,men they were incredible and after all she was so kind and good that you couldn't just ignore her.Of course she had nothing on me like Ness.She was Not as perfect as my Renesmee,but she was close enough...

''Wipped'' Emily said to me,taking me out of my thoughts. ''Huh?'' What did she mean? ''Oh come on Jake,you and I both now you where thinking about Her just now''She said,a smirk on her lips.

I scowled and shook my head.''Whatever Emily,where did the little freak went anyway?''I asked to change the subject, 'cause everybody knew it was hard for me.I mean sure I get the tining about the age,but it's not like I see Renesmee in 'that' way,

and I totally get Bella and everybody else who at first thought it was creepy -heck even I thought it was when it came to Quil and Claire,I was such a hypocrite-but now it is different.I just can't live without her in my life,no matter what our connection is at the time.For now brother and protector it is.

''Josh dropped his bottle and started crying so Angel panicked,poor thing,she worries way to much for him for her own good''Emily answered my question.

''Angel?''I asked cocking an eyebrow.Angel of what?Death?

''It's just that 'Lucaria' is too long and 'Angel' seems fitting,plus it's way better that 'Little Freak' ''Em mock-glared me.

''Whatever you say Emily,it's you that you have to stick with the two of them in the future''They would make a hell lot of interesting couple if they ever made it to that relationship...

''I'm sure they'll do fine together,you'll see''She replied.Something didn't add up though...

''You'll see?''

''You don't expect me to live forever Jake,do you? I'm only human at the end of the day...''

Oh,I hadn't thought of that.

I'd never really though about that.Emily was human.No werewolf,no vampire,no supernatural being.Death was inevitable.

My heart sunk with the though of Emily dying.No.She couldn't do that!

''You think Sam is gonna let you die?And don't give me that crappy answer 'he has no choice' ''I said,but deep down I knew that he really had no choice.We were not vampires,we couldn't just bite a human and bahm!You're a werewolf.It was in our genes but not in Emily's.

''That's right I won't''Sam said from right behind me.He must have heard our conversation.''I won't let you die Em.Not alone.''

''What?''She and I said in unison.

''You think I'm gonna let you die alone?Grow old alone?No.We're together in this.When you reach the age I turned for the first time,I will stop swifting.I will grow old again,with you''

My jaw hit the floor but I refrained from saying something.Emily on the other hand,with tears in her eyes,run to him and hugged him close muttering 'thank you's to him and kissing him all over.

I looked away not wanting to ruin their moment but also 'cause I needed to think.What would happen without Sam around?Sure I was not in his pack anymore but that didn't mean he stopped being my brother.My family.

''Are you okay Jacob?''Sam brought me out of my thought with his deep voice.

''Just worried Sam...are you sure about this?What about Josh?Don't you want him to have at least one of his parents alive?''

''Josh was the one that made my decisions final.With him,I won't be leaving the pack.I'll be leaving a part of me behind.After that it's his life and he can do whatever he wants with it.We'll watch him grow and become old enough to take care of himself.Besides I can trust you to keep an eye on him,can't I? Plus,I'm sure Lucaria will be at his side''

''Of course you can Sam.''

''Then It's settled''Sam said and slapped me at the back.

''Better head home now before Billy freaks'' I said.

''You better'' said Sam and went to help Emily in the kitchen while she waved goodbye.

It was already pitch black outside as I made my way into the woods,so I didn't need to hide in order to turn.

I took my clothes off and secured them on my foot.I then left the heat take control of my body and with one movement I turned.

''Hello,hello,hello''Seth's thought immediately invalid my mind.

''Ugh Seth what are you still doing in that form?''I thought annoyed.

''Why so grumpy?Missing Nessie?And I don't know.Those math problems got on my nerves''He thought.

oh right! I had forgot tomorrow was a school day for him and....for me.

''Great''I thought sarcastically.

''Don't tell me you will ditch again?You haven't set foot on the reservation for over a week Jake!''

''I know I know.I'll be there okay?''

''Cool!''Seth thought happily.

I was mid thought about how much I hated Mr.Decklong,my English teacher,when I caught a scent that didn't belong to the forest around me.

The trail lead north,the opposite direction of my house,so I followed it.I couldn't quite place what it was.I just knew it didn't quite fit.

The more I went north the heavier the scent became.I wasn't scared though.Just curious to see what it wa-

My thoughts were int erupted by a weird feeling that I all of a sudden got.

It was like I was fainting...

My hearing disappeared and so did my smell.

I was drifting and drifting into darkness and the last thing I saw before drifting away completely was a pair of....

blood red eyes.
