Bella's P.O.V.

Three hours ago

''Bella wait up!''

I came to an abrupt stop and turned around.''What?''I snapped at Edward.

''Love you can't go barging in there,They're going to kill you right away''He told me dropping a protective arm over my shoulders.

''They have Jake Edward.If anything happens to him it will be all my fault.And..and I can't lose him..he's my best friend and neither can Nessie.It will kill her if anything bad happened to him''

''I know Bella.I know.And nothing will happen to him.I promise you that.Now listen to me.Here's what we're going to do.''He said and brought his lips to my ear.

Don't get distracted Bella now.Focus!My inner voice commanded once his perfect lips touched my ear and my train of thoughts went elsewhere...

''You and Carlisle will go in.You will use you shield to protect him.He is going to talk to Aro,but he will refuse.Alice jut saw it''He said and looked at his left where Alice and Carlisle were.

''That's my cuew to appear with Alice and the wolves in our side.Now baby I want you to be honest with me.Can you handle shielding all six of us?''

I nodded.I was positive I could do it.I mean how hard could it be?

''Right.So that's it I guess we're all set.''Edward said and reluctantly lifted his arm from my shoulders.

''Whait what am I supposed to do?Jacob will clearly not be in there with them,I mean Alice saw they kept him in a room right?How are we going to get in there?''

''Don't worry about that Bella.Once the time is right you and Edward are going to get him''Carlisle said.

''But that will live you unprotected!''As much as I wanted to save Jacob I couldn't leave my family unprotected.

''Don't worry about us Bella!Aro wants me alive remember and they aren't crazy enough to go after Carlisle''Alice said and linked her arm with Jasper's.

Jasper! I've almost forgot he was there.He was barely speaking.

''What about Jasper?''I asked no one in particular.

''Jasper''Said Jasper with a wicked grin on his face'' is going to stay in the shadows trying to maintain peace,if you know what I mean.''

''And I promise you Bella.No one is going to touch Alice or Carlisle for that matter''Jasper went on looking me straight in the eye.

And all of a sudden I believed him.I felt less anxious and calmer,peaceful even.

''Now,''said Carlisle ''We better get going we don't have much time and they already know we're here.''

I nodded and after hugging Edward so tight that it would have crushed a regular person,I followed Carlisle into the Volturi's lair.

The air was cold and stuffy into the building.Marble was the dominant ingredient and there were mantras and quoted sculptured all over the walls that created the long corridor Carlisle and I were currently crossing.

''I don't remember seeing any of these''I whispered to Carlisle pointing at the signs.

''That's because they are not meant to be seen by humans''He said and I gawked at him.
