Lauren signed off before turning off the camera and she let out a sigh, in part because she was relieved she had done her filming for the week and partly because her plans that weekend had been cancelled, her friends having plans with their partners. Lauren opened her phone and reread the message from Chris he sent the other day. She stared at her phone for a few moments and pursed her lips before typing a message to Chris.
Hey, you about?
To Lauren's surprise she see's Chris typing straight away she watched her phone for the message to pop up.
Yep, what's up?
Lauren clicks the facetime button quickly readjusting her auburn hair, Chris picks up after three rings with a smile on his face.
"Hey what's up," Chris asked.
"Not much, just finished filming, need to pop it over to my editor and that's work done for the week." Lauren explained leaning back on her chair, she wasn't quite sure where this conversation was going, she just knew she needed to talk to someone. As she spoke she realised she hadn't said a word to anyone in two days,
"Oo editor. Someone's doing well," Chris teased pulling his hand through his hair.
"You also have an editor!" Lauren exclaimed, laughing at Chris' hypocrisy.
"I do some of it myself," he defended, leaning back in his chair also, mirroring Lauren slightly,
"Me too, this is a bigger job though and I need it to look good." Lauren admitted. She knew some people liked to do the whole video's themselves and she did where she could but editing was not her strong point and anything more complex than editing out some mistakes and putting basic scenes together were handed over to Stu.
"No, no I get that. Got any big plans for the weekend?" Chris asked leaning forward again, suddenly finding his chair very uncomfortable.
"Nope. I did have some plans to go out with some girl friends but they've all dumped me for their boyfriends," Lauren admitted pathetically. Even when she was in a relationship she would always honour her plans with her friends so this had hurt. One forgot she made dinner plans and another got invited to a wedding last minute. Hannah was ill so that couldn't be helped and Lauren wasn't angry at her, she wasn't really angry at anyone more so at the situation though she was somewhat disappointed in her friends.
"That is rough, and I'm speaking from experience here," Chris shot a sympathetic smile over to Lauren knowing exactly how frustrating it can be when most if not all of your friends are in relationships and you are feeling more lonely than ever before.
"What about you? Any good tinder dates this weekend?" Lauren joked. Since Chris had split up with his girlfriend Chris's dating record was reaching legendary status. It had become a big joke in the community that Chris was playing the field so much it was more like a muddy trench by this point.
"No, I was meant to have one but she rescheduled." He explained wondering if he could suddenly salvage his weekend plans which up until this point consisted of his watch later playlist on Youtube.
"What happened? Did she google your height?" Lauren joked with a wink.
"Shut up, you're shorter than me!" Chris retorted with a smile on his face, seeing Lauren clap back as soon as she did suggested that she was at least in a better mood than she was at the meeting the other day. "I was going to suggest we have a drink but if you're going to be rude..." Chris commented scratching his chin. He still wasn't used to the beard, everyone told him he liked it and it did stop him from looking like a prepubescent in his eyes so he kept it.
