Part 36

By a stroke of good luck Kelly was okay for Chris and Lauren to move the wedding stuff to her flat earlier than planned, allowing the couple to concentrate on the Come Dine With Me Video with their only anxieties being around the food and the night. In the competition as well as themselves were Chip and his girlfriend Sabina, Theo and his girlfriend Jodie and Simon and Talia. With three cameras in their kitchen and two set up in their dining room ready for later Lauren and Chris were ready to start cooking.

"I think our menu is quite representative of us as a couple really, quite classic, quite classy," Chris said to camera, little did he know that Chip's voice over to this would add a sarcastic comment about the pair getting together in Ibiza. For a starter they were doing a prawn and avocado bruschetta, their main was a beef wellington with roasted vegetables and to finish off was a berry panna cotta.

"There's a lot involved with the main, and we've never made it before so that's where it could all go wrong," Lauren then made a worried face.

"I am your sous chef," Chris said to Lauren and clapped his hands together "tell me what you want me to do."

"You're in charge of dessert tonight, which might surprise some people because I bake quite a lot but you start off with that and I'm going to make this mushroom duxelle for the wellington," Lauren instructed.

"You're not going to let me anywhere near this main course are you?"Chris joked as he walked over to the fridge.

"I'll let you know," Lauren winked as she walked over to the work station she was going to be working at.

"Who do you think is going to be the hardest to please tonight?" Lauren asked when the two were cooking.

"Theo, the guy doesn't crack a smile," Chris replied as he was looking at the bench in front of him trying to look for something. "Ginger, ginger," Chris kept saying to himself still looking up and down the bench.

"I told you to stop calling me that!" Lauren joked and Chris laughed.

"Only if you stop calling me big dick," Chris retorted and Lauren shook her head.

"What is it about putting a camera in front of you that makes you change into a massive dick?" Lauren asked as she continued with making her food, then she put on a stupid voice in an attempt to mimick Chris "Oh look at me I'm ChrisMD I might be really short but look I'm a lad yeah football yeah shit banter."

"It's painful how accurate that is," Chris replied looking down at his food as he pouted a little.

"I mean why else does anyone become a Youtuber than to try and be loved?" Lauren said bringing the tone back a little to a joking mode and bringing herself back into the conversation.

All their prep was done with no food fights, just about Chris came really close to throwing cream at Lauren's head after a joke she made at his expense. Chip and Sabina were the first to arrive, mostly because it was his video and he wanted to check on some things.

"Can I get either of you a drink? Water or a cocktail?" Chris asked giving Lauren a subtle side eye that no one else noticed.

"Wait who made the cocktail?" Chip asked.

"Chris did," Lauren replied, she knew why Chris was asking and that was because her cocktails tended to be incredibly strong.

"In that case yes," Chip answered and Lauren sighed, she was expecting that answer but still it hurt.

Theo and Jodie were next to arrive and the six made some small talk while they waited for Simon and Talia.

"Hurry up Minter, I don't want a burnt dinner," Chris moaned.
