"Do you know what colour the bridesmaids are wearing?" Lauren asked as she let an olive-coloured dress slip through her fingers.
"Does it matter?" Chris asked. They were shopping for dresses for Chris's friend's wedding. He agreed to go because he wanted to spend time with Lauren but was now regretting his choices as they had been walking around for what felt like ages, Lauren could be really indecisive.
"Not really, I don't want people to think I'm a bridesmaid, or I'm trying to be over the top. I should probably go for a shorter dress," Lauren mused placing the green one down.
"I like that one," Chris moaned, he did genuinely want to see Lauren in the long silk dress, see how it hugged her curves but also he was very bored and wanted this ordeal to be over.
"So do I but I'm worried about it being a bit much, I don't know these people!" Lauren started to panic, she did love the dress but she was well aware it would be the first and maybe only time she would be meeting Chris's friends from back home.
"What about for Simon and Talia's wedding?" Chris suggested and Lauren's eyes lit up.
"That's a great idea," Lauren picked up two sizes ready to try them on.
"You know, since everyone knows about us I was thinking we could also go to Simon and Talia's wedding together." Chris suggested timidly.
"Makes sense," Lauren shrugged as she picked out a knee length dress which had a cream background but was covered in a pink rose pattern.
"That's very you," Chris commented wondering why Lauren was now so calm about everything, considering how much she flapped when everyone found out about their relationship, and he had to calm her down again when they were reunited.
"Okay I'm just going to try these on very quickly."
"And then we can get food?" Chris asked hopefully, feeling the rumble in his stomach, they had been at this for nearly two hours and he was more than ready to flop.
Two purchases made and a lighter bank balance later Lauren and Chris were finally making their way over to the food court.
"Excuse me, sorry could I have a picture please," a teenage girl roughly fifteen stood before the couple clutching her phone in her hand. She looked up at Lauren with a big nervous smile.
"Of course you can, hang on." Lauren replied, placing her bags down on the floor.
"Oh my god you do videos with The Sidemen!" The girl exclaimed pointing at Chris who just laughed a little and nodded. Teenage girls weren't really his video demographic so they usually only knew him as the Sidemen's friend and it didn't bother him much.
Three photos were taken, one with all three of them and two with just Lauren and the fan, there was a quick thirty second chat before the fan thanked them both politely and left the couple to get on with the rest of the day.
"Does getting recognised freak you out a bit? I dont think I'll ever get used to it," Chris admitted. He knew he put up a bit of a bravado and sometimes came across arrogant but he wasn't, he was just good at football, and he knew he was good at football that was all it was and every Youtuber had a sort of character they played some more than others.
"Same. That's a nice encounter though quick and polite." There had been a couple of times when filming Sidemen videos where she saw the boys being swamped and she was so glad it wasn't her, she really felt for the boys having to deal with it.
The fan uploaded the photo to Lauren's Reddit page and it also found it's way to Instagram and Twitter. It was reposted to Lauren's Discord server where it got picked up Lauren was with Chris.
