"Your destination is on the right," The words flowed from my car's speaker, prompting me to flick on my indicator before performing the turn, and my eyes wasted no time taking in the building. My mind had been rattling since I got dressed this morning with what we could be doing, but I had no clue, and there wasn't a sensible review about this place on the internet that could help me figure it out.
I sighed, lifting my phone into my hand as I pulled to a stop at the entrance waiting on the security to approach me as I found Keys' number.
I hope she was already here cause the place is too hot for me to be in this car waiting.
A CAR WITH NO A/C
"Good morning," The security greeted as he settled at my car door with a bend of his body to be at eye level as I hit the call icon under Keys' number.
"Good morning,"
"Which one of the buildings are you heading to?" He asked, and it had me glancing to the small but well kept and modern plaza that held numerous businesses before looking back to him.
"I'm not too sure actually, I'm supposed to be meeting someone here," I said, hoping this man would let me inside as I felt my irritation threatening to pop on up. "They just sent me the address but I'm calling t—"
"Yow Jay," I heard that familiar voice call out, prompting not only me, but the man to follow it to see Keys stepping out from one of the buildings with a push of the door closed behind her. "With me,"
"I got you," The man replied, standing straight before moving back into his security post as I ended my call to Keys, and only a few short seconds later the gates were sliding open, allowing me to drive in. "Just park anywhere to the right,"
"Thank you," I told him with a smile as I drove past him, following his instructions as I pulled over to the right, parking in the spot with the most shade since the last thing I wanted was my car to be even hotter when I got back to it.
I unplugged my phone from the charger, quickly realizing that my irritation had made its way through cause I was just that, irritated, and I know the heat had made it easy for me to be. I quickly grabbed my small bag pushing my phone inside, before turning off my car and opening the door to catch the sight of Keys settling a few inches away as I stood.
"Hey, you good?"
"Nah, I'm irritated," I told her honestly, and as usual her ass found some shit funny as she smiled, which pissed me off further as I pushed my door shut. "You should've just gave me the details,"
"I'm sorry, I just got here, and I went in to make sure everything was ready," She explained, but it still ain't make sense to me or my irritation as I locked my car, before turning back to see her still smiling.
"You smiling is pissing me off," I replied, and that turned her smile into a chuckle, which had me rolling my eyes as I contemplated getting back in my car.
Today was too hot for this.
"I can't be happy?"
"Not when you fucked up my mood," I answered, and she nodded, allowing her eyes to run over me, her smile smaller—subtle.
"You was waiting for like two seconds, and I already apologized," She voiced as her eyes met mine, staring, and I made no move to respond to what she said cause it ain't fix nothing in me...and I wasn't sure I wanted it to. "How can I make it up to you? Tell me and I'll do it,"
"Let's just go in," I told her, over all the talking in this heat.
"Imma make it up to you," She voiced as she stepped aside, giving me the space to walk ahead, and I did, but soon she caught up to me. "Right over here,"
