It has been a few days since the prisoners were sent into their own cellblock and the pack hadn't seen nor heard from them, which was a relief seeing how no one trusted them much.
Ana was stood outside with a hot chocolate in hand, smiling softly at the sight of her two cubs kicking a ball around. She deemed it safe enough for the children to have some independence and be free to enjoy themselves, as long as an adult was present. She had warded off the area for any outside interference, walkers would not be able to enter nor would any survivors who wish to cause them harm.
"Cubs! Come get some water please, you need to stay hydrated in this weather" She called out and the two children instantly rushed towards her, their hairs sticking to their face from the sweat and their cheeks red from all the exercise.
"Thank you, aunt Ana" They said in unison, making her giggle as she handed them cold bottles of water. They gulped half the bottle in one, giving her a brief hug before running back to where they left the ball, making her shake her head in amusement.
"You're good to them" Ana turned around and smiled at Shane, who was holding a coffee in his hands.
"They're my cubs" She shrugged, her eyes staying on their smaller forms with a soft smile.
"I don't know what we would have done if we never met you, Anastasia" She turned her head towards him and noticed the intense emotions in his eyes, even though he kept his gaze on the children. Her heart warmed at his words and leant her head on his upper arm, smiling as he placed a kiss to her head.
They stayed in a comfortable silence, enjoying the warm weather and the sound of the two children laughing. However, Ana could feel heated daggers aimed at their backs and with a sniff of the air, she instantly smelt the overbearing perfume that could only belong to one person. Lori Grimes.
"Has anyone seen Glenn and Maggie?" Rick questioned the two as he approached. Shane shook is head with a small frown, realising that he hadn't seen the pair all morning but as he glanced down at Ana and saw the mischievous grin on her face, the two men knew she was aware of something they weren't.
"Little sister?" Ana looked up at Rick, her smile morphing into one of innocence.
"Yes brother dearest?" Shane chuckled under his breath whilst Rick looked down at their sister with a raised eyebrow, his arms folded over his chest.
"Where's Glenn and Maggie?"
"In the guard tower" She giggled and nodded towards the tower which was used to surveillance the area. Rick and Shane looked up at the tower with a confused frown before something clicked in the darker haired man, his head flinging back as he roared with laughter.
"Guard tower? They were just up there last night!" Rick explained, his confusion still apparent on his face which made both Shane and Ana laugh louder.
Ana jumped a little when two muscular arms wrapped around her waist from behind and from the scent of wood, grass and smoke, she instantly knew it was her mate. She looked over her shoulder and smiled brightly at the youngest Dixon, who sent her a wink and placed a kiss to her forehead.
"Glenn! Maggie!" Shane called out as he got his laughter under control. They watched as the guard tower door swung open, revealing Glenn with no shirt on and him trying to button up his trousers.
"Hey! What's up guys?" Daryl nuzzled his face into Ana's neck, his shoulders shaking as he tried to suppress his laughter whilst Anastasia and Shane couldn't control theirs. Realisation appeared on Rick's face and he lowered his head as he chuckled.
"You comin'?" Daryl responded, earning more laughter from the other three.
"Enjoying yourself are you!?" Ana called out and instantly saw Glenn's cheeks redden.
