Daryl, Merl and Glenn stood in the courtyard, watching Ana pace back and forth for the last half an hour. It was only Daryl who could feel how conflicted his girl was, though he couldn't quite figure out why but knew she needed time alone to sort out whatever was going on inside her head. The pack had grown worried since she had been this way for just over a week and was usually brushed off when they confronted her about her behaviour.
"Seriously, what's up with her?" Glenn questioned in concern, a deep frown on his face as he watched the woman he thought of as an older sister mumble to herself.
"Dunno, but she's conflicted about somethin'" Daryl responded with a sigh, feeling helpless at how to help her.
Suddenly, she stopped pacing and her head snapped in their direction, making them tense slightly at being caught. She shook her head before beginning her pacing once again, making Merle groan beside them.
"Ain't she gettin' tired yet?" Footsteps approaching from behind caught their attention, Glenn smiled at the sight of his girlfriend who greeted him with a soft kiss.
"What are ya'll looking at?" She questioned, only for Daryl to point out in the field area where she noticed Ana pacing once again. "Again?"
Glenn nodded with a sigh and said "Daryl said she's feeling conflicted about something" They watched as Ana suddenly transformed into her Phoenix form and disappeared. Daryl froze in silent panic and concern, hating the fact that she was out there doing god knows what without informing anyone.
"She'll be back, don't worry" Maggie patted Daryl on the shoulder before pulling out her knife and making her way down to the fences to dispose of the walkers who were desperately trying to enter, though impossible due to the magical wards around the property.
-oOoOo-
For the last few days, all Ana could do was try to make sense of the conflict between her heart and brain. Her heart was telling her to bring her pack to the manor where they'd be safe and happy, knowing that they couldn't truly relax inside the prison walls whilst her brain was trying to work out how to find others that she needed to save. Sure, she didn't know who they were or where to find them but Fate put her there for a reason, and she sure as hell wasn't going to ignore what her magic was telling her. She needed to find them and then, they could all live peacefully together without worrying about walkers and their safety constantly.
She looked up at the prison, frowning slightly at the sight of the three familiar figures who had been watching her for Merlin knows how long. She knew she was worrying her pack with her behaviour but she didn't want to inform them of her conflict since getting their hopes up would only cause them sadness. However, she felt that leaving for the manor was the best decision and perhaps she could go out to search for others whenever she was not helping the pack settle in.
After deciding to leave and check on the welfare of the elves, animals, and creatures, she transformed into her Phoenix and vanished in a burst of flames. Upon reaching the boundaries of her property, she changed back into her human form and made a beeline for the part of the forest that she personally owned. She was instantly met by two out of the five hippogriffs that she owns and after bowing down to the pair, the part horse part eagle beast struts over and rubs their heads against her affectionately.
"I missed you guys too. I'll be bringing my pack home soon, I hope you all will behave"
"We always behave" Ana chuckled as the feminine voice of Dakota, the brown-feathered Hippogriff echoed through her mind.
