The trip to the manor only lasted a few days, as they were flying instead of having to navigate around herds of walkers and find alternate routes due to traffic jams. To everyone's relief, the RV was able to fly by itself, allowing the group to enjoy their time together and catch up on much-needed sleep.
"I'm surprised I don't feel air sick" Beth commented as she looked out of the windows at all the walkers that would have slowed their journey.
"Do you remember that time when you vomited all over that sweet old lady on the plane back from Hawaii?" Hershel chuckled, causing a blush of embarrassment to form on his youngest daughter's face, which got worse as everyone began to laugh.
"You should all try magical travel, that shit is horrible" Ana's face cringed in disgust, remembering all the times that she had used a Portkey, Apparation and flooing.
"What kinda of travel?" Carol questioned curiously. Ana took a seat on Daryl's lap, his arms instinctively wrapping around her and nuzzling into her neck.
"Well... we have apparation which is transporting from one place to another. It feels like you're being pressed in all directions and you can't breathe properly until you arrive at your destination. People usually puke or feel extremely nauseous-" Those who experienced apparation nodded with a grim expression, remembering the feeling.
"Then we have a Portkey. It's when an object is enchanted to instantly bring you to a destination, and unlike apparation, it doesn't have a limit on the distance. You're flying through the air and you cannot let go of the object until you're at your destination" that form of transport did not seem appealing to anyone, making Ana laugh lightly at the slightly fearful look in some of her pack members' eyes.
"We have the Floo network which is less disorientating but can be quite difficult-"
"What do you do, Aunt Ana?" Sophia questioned excitedly with her head laid on Carl's shoulder, the now teenage boy being equally as curious as the others.
"Every magical household has a fireplace, sometimes multiple and we all have something called Floo powder. We use the fireplace as a way to either call people by sticking our heads inside the green flame or, stepping inside the fireplace and saying loud and clearly a place you'd like to go. Unlike the others though, the Floo network can be cut off and can only be used when permitted to enter the other end by the person who owns the place you want to go"
"Wait, why would you use the fireplace to call someone?" Amy spoke out confusingly, the pack nodding in agreement to her question.
"The magical world is very behind, meaning we don't have phones, the internet, electricity and vehicles, except the knight bus and people rarely use that because of how horrible the journey is" Ana bit her lip to stop herself from laughing at the looks of disbelief on their faces, especially the younger adults of the pack who has grown up with access to phones and computers.
"How did any of ye survive?" Merle scoffed with a shake of his head, not understanding how a whole different community could be so behind as the rest of the world changed and adapted.
"We have magic"
-oOoOo-
Fifty hours later, Ana was sitting in the driver's seat with Glenn and Shane in the passenger seats beside her. The group gathered in the lower level of the RV as Ana informed them of their imminent arrival in a few short minutes. With Ana's sharp eyesight, she could see the manor in the distance but knew the pack wouldn't until they had been personally invited in.
"I'll be landing in a minute, everyone be careful" She called out over her shoulder, instantly noticing everyone grabbing the closest counter to them.
As she approached the manor, she lowered the RV and let out a sigh as the tyres hit the smooth tarmac roads. She stopped the vehicle for a moment to look over her shoulder at her pack, only to find them observing their surroundings with both confusion and weariness.
It was Shane who decided to break the silence, his tone soft but with a hint of uncertainty. "Ana? Where is this Manor exactly?"
She let out a sigh and mumbled a quick 'one moment' before calling out to Dobby, who appeared behind her instantly.
"You called, Ana?" Dobby said before looking behind him, a bright smile forming on his face at the sight of the group that cared so much about his mistress. He gave them a cheerful wave, receiving some back with amused laughs before he turned back to Ana, who was watching the exchange with a soft smile.
"Little one, could you please bring the ward book" Dobby nodded and popped away, only to return moments later with a black shiny book with the deathly Hallows symbol on the front. "Thank you"
Once he disappeared, Ana left her seat and approached her pack, Glenn and Shane following curiously. She placed the ward book on the table along with a muggle pen, knowing they wouldn't be able to write with a quill properly.
"I need you all to write your full names down, please. Rick, you'll have to write Judith's" No one moved for a moment, all looking between Ana and the book before Daryl shrugged and stepped forward, placing a small kiss on her forehead before writing down his name.
As each person took their turn writing down their names, Tasha was the first to spot a building that hadn't been there moments before. Her gasp caught everyone's attention, and as they looked in the direction she was staring, they all froze in awe.
"Welcome home, everyone"
"A-Ana, this is...beautiful" Rick whispered, his blue eyes filling with tears as he finally got the chance to look upon the secure haven that his children would grow up in, Safe and happy.
"Thank you. This isn't it, there are many more acres of land and even a swimming pool in the back" She laughed at the excitement that lit up in the two older cubs' eyes before turning to Daryl. His attention remained frozen on the manor, a look of astonishment and relief apparent in his eyes, and Ana found herself lost in it.
"Should I drive in?" Glenn questioned, earning a grateful nod from the witch before she snaked her arms around Daryl, who finally snapped out of his frozen state.
"So... what do ya think?"
"It's amazing baby" He mumbled just before smashing his lips against hers, knocking the air out of her lungs.
"Here we go again" Shane groaned and turned to his seat by Glenn, who had started driving up to the large iron gates that opened the moment he approached. It took another few minutes to reach the manor itself and the pack instantly piled out of the RV the moment it parked, wanting to take a closer look at their surroundings.
"Ana!" The witch turned on her heel, a bright smile forming on her face as the three elves ran towards her. She dropped to her knee and opened her arms, the little elves jumping into her embrace as she laughed.
"Oh, how I've missed you all"
"Ana and Pack are finally home?" said Star hopefully, receiving a nod from Ana and a small laugh as the little elf dived back into her arms.
"Tell me-" She pulled away and stood, smiling as the pack approached. "How are the people at Woodbury?"
"A muggle by the name of Sandra is now the leader, she is a good leader and looks after everyone. They are a little confused about the food that keeps popping up but no one really questions it" Pip responds, his chest puffed out proudly at being the main elf to provide food for the large group.
"Excellent! Well done you three. I think it's time for a tour now"
