Later that night, Milori thought over the days' events.
He still could not wrap his mind around the conversation he had with Skye and all the revelations it had brought forth.
Not to mention that he was able to have it at all (he was proud of himself).
As far as tough dealings went, that was probably the worst interaction he had with someone in years.
As it turned out, someone telling you that they were in love with your wife was not for the faint of heart.
Milori turned over in bed, trying not to look at the empty spot next to him.
After talking more, Skye had given him a deeper look into both his and Ashe's pasts.
What living under Kealy's rule was like, what majority of the Hinter peoples' opinions were, laws and acts that Ashe dreamed of passing, and more.
By the end of their conversation, Milori felt he had a better understanding and a greater amount of respect for both the Hintermen.
Well as much as one could have in light of their attempted actions in his kingdom.
So much so that Milori knew what he had to do.
In the end, Milori opted in transferring the Hinterlands and all of its remaining holdings into the possession of Ashe with the stipulation that he train and shadow under Milori until his 21st birthday.
Milori felt the young man still had alot to learn when it came to royal dealings and the worst thing he could do was throw an entire Kingdom at a boy who, while showing leadership promise, still held the opinions of others too highly.
Ashe needed to be his own man if he was to rule a territory, not one who still looked to his uncle and others for approval.
In time Ashe would make a strong yet fair leader, Milori would see to it.
In an odd way, he felt like he owed it to Ashe to help guide him since no one else could.
Skye of course was grateful and held no qualms with this.
He was thrilled that he would get to see his nephew flourish like he had always hoped and carry on the Hinter lineage.
Milori also hoped that in doing this, the political relations between the two realms would finally be peaceful and coexistent.
It would never be the same as that between Pixie Hollow and the Winter Realm yet nothing ever would be.
That relationship was only made possible and cultivated because of Clarion.
Milori sighed at that train of thought, reaching his arm out to brush against the empty sheets that once surrounded her body.
He wondered if it would ever be the same again.
Drifting back to his train of thought, Milori recalled the moment Ashe had walked up to him and his uncle talking.
He had most likely been about to ask a question yet stopped and stared- wide eyed at the sight of Milori and Skye shaking hands.
"Count on it."
Skye finished replying to Milori, who stated that he hoped the two realms could grow together in the future.
After letting go of Skye's hand, Milori smiled slightly at Ashe's shocked face and turned fully to him, bowing.
"Your Highness."
At that Milori then walked away, knowing the Ranger had much to catch the future King up to speed on.
He and Ashe would have their talk in due time.
Now Milori couldn't help but think how surprised Clarion would be if she were to appear now and see all the changes that had come to pass.
He hoped she would eventually.
Looking at a calendar along the far side of the wall, Milori was counting down.
Only a few more days left until the High Fae Congregation.
He couldn't wait.
