Whoa.
Clarion stood stunned after Milori left.
Her face was definitely not the only part of her body feeling the heat.
It had been months since they'd last embraced and while she wanted that more than anything, she'd settle with the hot flirting.
She walked through the castle.
She had only a few duties, but they all centered around housekeeping.
She made a mental note to talk to Milori about getting Avalon a tutor, not for education in math, science or reading but in proper manners.
If Avalon was to start talking with boys, she would need to prove that she could handle it first through self control and the dreaded talk.
Clarion passed by Avalon's room and heard humming.
Knocking slightly, Clarion entered and saw a flurry of movement as Avalon tried to hide the diary she was writing in.
One that contained many hearts and a boys' picture.
Oh lord.
Clarion raised an eyebrow as she walked towards Avalon and sat on her bed next to her. "You want to tell me about him now or later?" Clarion asked, smiling softly.
Avalon sighed,
"Its nothing really. I like Ash and he likes me. But we're not dating or flirting, Ash said he'd wait till I was of age and he was through with training to propose."
Clarion tried not to show any emotion but it was much worse than she thought.
Milori was going to murder this boy.
It was almost cruel that the universe gave him a girl, Clarion chuckled inwardly.
Schooling her features again, Clarion responded.
"And what do you think of all this? Surely there will be other boys who will come along besides Ash."
Avalon vehemently shook her head,
"He's the one I want to marry though Clarion! He's so amazing and thoughtful and cute."
In saying the last word she blushed.
Clarion thought of what she could say.
She was not particularly worried about Avalon as the girl had a good head on her shoulders, but she could spot boy infatuation from a mile away.
She didn't want this boy to hurt Avalon's feelings in the end, or worse, have ulterior motives like Milori warned about.
"Well I think his plan is smart. You both need to wait till your a little older for anything to happen."
The girl snorted,
"Of course, can you imagine dad ever letting anything happen now? I can barely go to the bathroom without guards alerting him."
"You know him, he's just protective. Your his whole world Avie. I won't bring this up to him but I won't keep it from him either if he does inquire."
Avalon brightened at this and launched herself across the bed into Clarions' arms.
"Thank you, thank you! I promise I'll be on my best behavior!"
Clarion smiled and rubbed Avalon's back, inhaling her baby shampoo.
She mentally added another thing to her to do list: have a talk with this Ash.
Later that evening after dinner, Clarion aimlessly walked the halls like she usually did before going to bed.
Alone.
She was uncharacteristically restless tonight and wasn't ready to go sit in a dark bedroom just yet.
Sadness seemed to envelope her when she did so she made it a habit to now stroll the castle after Avalon had gone to bed, collecting her thoughts.
She needed a hobby.
One she could get passionate about and she had the perfect idea.
For years now the coast of Pixie Hollow had been littered with lost things.
Items from the mainland that had washed ashore.
Normally this wasn't a problem and Tinker-bell loved to collect the items to use, but lately they had been piling up more than usual, causing issues like pollution.
Getting the coastline cleaned up would take a dedicated team and she was going to head over to the lead ranger -Skye or something- in charge of it all in a few days to get started.
She had also briefly told Milori of Avalon's need for a tutor in royal manners while passing in the hallway.
He immediately agreed and told her to find someone.
Strangely enough, she had found a fairy from the warm side named Poppy who taught such things.
Odd since she had never heard of her before but Clarion shook it off believing that she had probably just moved.
Poppy had agreed to start right away by coming tomorrow to give the first lesson. Appeased with her final musings of the night, Clarion made her way to the bedroom wishing Milori would somehow be in there.
He was nowhere to be seen.

Milori walked into the castle the next afternoon after a hard day of training soldiers.
Taking off his gloves, he walked the hallway but stopped when he heard several feminine voices.
Seeing a door ajar just up ahead to the left, he entered through it and immediately saw Clarion, Avalon and a fairy whom he had never met before.
Must be the new tutor he thought.
The fairy turned to him with wide eyes and immediately bowed to him.
"My lord, such a pleasure to meet you, my name is Poppy, the new tutor."
Milori assessed her.
She was a bit younger than him and Clarion but old enough to know enough to teach Avalon.
She was most likely quite pretty to, but Milori could not tell since she was standing close to Clarion.
His wife's inner radiance and glow could outshine any in a room.
Milori responded,
"Thank you for making yourself available to teach some manners to my daughter, I'm afraid she is sorely lacking."
He said grinning and shooting a wink to Avalon who just rolled her eyes.
"It is my pleasure your grace."
Milori nodded and motioned to Clarion.
"Let us know if there is any issue."
And with that he put his hand on Clarions' waist and propelled her to the door.
Once outside in the hallway, Clarion frowned.
"Did you need something?"
Milori instantly replied,
"This".
And with that he cupped her face and planted a hard kiss on her lips.
He must have seen sparks because their lips together was akin to an explosion.
Swallowing her noise of protest, he continued the kiss when she opened her mouth.
After a few minutes he finally released her and moved away, breathing heavily.
Putting a hand up to smooth hairs back into place, Clarion looked around to see if anyone had seen and finally said,
"Well that was long overdue".
Milori grinned.
"I'm sorry you thought so, I'll make sure to make a habit of it."
Remembering what he needed to bring up, Milori put on a straight face and said,
"The head ranger of the forest contacted me saying you've put him and his team on a new project?"
Clarion sighed.
"Yes, although I don't see why he needs your permission, I want to clean up the coastline since I have the time."
Milori frowned.
"Since you have... you mean your going as well?"
Clarion responded,
"Of course, it's my project and I need to make sure it's done right", but Milori was already shaking his head.
"I already have too much as it is managing the kingdoms and watching Avalon, I cannot watch you too."
Clarions' temper instantly rose,
"Well it's a good thing I'm an adult and am perfectly fine watching over myself."
They both stared each other down, neither looking away.
Finally Milori said,
"I'll allow it only if I can tell ranger Skye to watch over you especially. The coast is ridden with pirates and thieves, anyone can see what an easy target a Queen would be. We don't need a repeat of what happened with Kealy." Clarion swallowed an insult.
He made it sound like her being kidnapped that one time was her fault!
Granted she wasn't being aware but still!
"You'll allow it? Funny since I was not asking you in the first place."
Yea, Clarion could totally see why Avalon was so tempted to sneak around and do things, Milori made her want to do that herself.
Milori scowled,
"Don't make me remind you of what I said the last time you tried to be all independent, I get to decide in the end if you can go somewhere potentially perilous."
Clarion felt like stomping her foot.
"Fine I'll ALLOW you to talk to him but don't make a huge deal about it."
Milori groaned and covered his eyes,
"Your infuriating, you know that?"
Clarion chuckled and responded,
"I think you'll manage."
