Not more than a few minutes after watching Clarion leave, Milori was soaring above the clouds.
He flew Archimedes hard and fast, intent on getting home.
She wanted to be courted?
Fine.
She wanted to be pursued?
He could do that.
Weaving in and out between tree tops and dodging cliff sides, Milori tried to think.
He was determined to show her that his heart was truly hers now.
That he did not care about the insignificant things that once had stopped him from wholeheartedly being able to love her.
He cursed silently as he had to rear Archimedes up aggressively, barely missing a snowy peak hidden by clouds.
The bird chirped in irritation at the sudden movement and Milori patted his head apologetically.
Think, think, think.
The Seasons' Tournament.
Every year Pixie Hollow, or rather Clarion, held a celebration for every fairy who wanted to attend.
It was for anyone- no matter their season, kingdom or station to gather and celebrate the arrival of summer to the mainland.
In addition, fairy soldiers hailing from every kingdom would come to test their shooting prowess in the Bow & Arrow contest, race in Bunny Riding, as well as participate in the other athletic events.
The winner would have the honor of being crowned King of the Match by Clarion herself.
Milori's mind raced, what day was it again? Quickly he scrambled to recall the current date and day as he slowly began to descend back into the Winter Realm.
The annual High Fae meeting was always held toward the end of May so that would give him only a week or two before the tournament, since Clarion always brought summer to the mainland in the first week of June.
Landing Archimedes seamlessly, Milori hopped off and tossed the reigns towards a waiting stable hand.
Without pause, he strode for the throne room.
It was decided then, he would go to the tournament and compete, like any other, for a chance to win a moment with the Queen.
Now in what event, he didn't know, but that was a problem for later.
Throwing the doors open, he crossed over to the desk in the middle of the room.
Stopping just shy of a few feet from it, Milori paused before touching the desk, allowing his mind to transport him back.
Back to the day he first got those horrible papers.
The divorce papers.
At the time he had never wanted to even think about, much less sign, the divorce agreement sent to him by Clarion.
The real wake-up call should have been Clarion leaving in the first place, however he felt none of it had truly sunk in until that fateful day her messenger had sent those papers.
In a fit of rage he had stuffed them into the drawer of his desk and locked them away, praying they'd never see the light of day.
With ease now, he took a key out of his pocket, unlocked a drawer, and pulled said papers from it.
He smoothed a hand over their crumpled edges and withdrew a pen from his pocket.
Without hesitation, he signed his name neatly to the documents then folded and sealed them with his royal crest.
Calling for a missive runner, he told the boy to get them as fast as possible to the Queen of Pixie Hollow.
She was right and they needed a do-over.
A clean start.
And this time, he was going to do everything right.
He would do anything for his wife, even if that meant divorcing her.
