"...Damn it, brother, don't scare us like that!" Tomas exhaled, with Jose crouched next to him.
"It's not my fault that you have such an opinion of me!" Gabriel claimed again that if he continued clenching his teeth, they would end up breaking.
"But, we must agree, this whole situation, anyone misinterprets it..."
"Go to hell!"
"Can we now?" Manuel asked again with that damn irritating tone.
"Dare to turn around, I swear I will point the riding crop right in your eyes!"
"Yes, please, do it" Tomas, on the other hand, sounded dispassionate, almost fed up.
"Aim well" just like Jose.
"You are all demons!" Manuel screamed.
"So" Jose rubbed the back of his neck, uncomfortable "you decided to give her your shirt, to replace her battered dress."
"The fabric is stronger and warmer than the one she was using, plus I can wear the armor well without it."
"And... explain to me again why she is unconscious" Tomas was scratching his neck nervously.
"She's just tired, damn it, do you know what she had to go through?!"
"And the reason why you were on her..." Manuel said in a low voice.
"It's not your damn business!" Seeing her stir restlessly in his arms, he carefully rearranged her and glared at his brothers' backs, lowering his voice "and I already told you to keep your mouths shut."
The three were forced to nod.
So Gabriel quickly maneuvered to finish covering her with the pieces of his clothing that he had given her and finish putting on his armor. It would feel a little strange for a while but with the thick blue cloth that was supposed to cover his body, hovering directly over his skin now that he didn't have his shirt on, it should be enough for the leather to not injure him. He took one last look at Marie to make sure that her charms were as far away as possible from the sight of his brothers... Not only because of her modesty, but because he did not like them at all going too far with his maid.
And he had to curse, his face flushed. His shirt certainly covered everything that the dress couldn't, wide enough to reach the middle of her thigh and thick enough so that she wouldn't show what she didn't want. He couldn't do anything about her long, graceful legs and the scrapes that wouldn't look so terrible anymore, but still scratched her soft skin. Likewise, he couldn't do much about her hair, which in his opinion was still more than beautiful that way, but he already knew how modest she was about it.
If she had a more practical garment than those ribbons that all the ladies wore, would it be easier for her?
Well, now the only problem, besides from the indiscreet threesome, was the feeling of impotence that was going to his head when he saw her wearing what he had been wearing until a moment ago, not to mention that the whole panorama kept his face and legs entrails in a permanent bonfire.
Come on, discipline, breathe in, breathe out, cool your mind, breathe in, breathe out...
The truth is that the feminine scent clinging to his nostrils wasn't helping him.
Resigned, he stood with his back to her to make a visual barrier, not only for his brothers, but for himself, and snorted:
"Well, what is the situation?"
The three boys turned cautiously and he did their best to ignore Manuel's momentarily excited expression and then disappointment, just so as not to throw something at him and oh, wow, what was closest to him was his whip, what a thing, huh!
