Chapter 16

As Octavia and I arrived at the house and got inside we went to the living room and found Laila watching some romantic movies with a bottle of booze next to her much to my surprise, she was watching it very closely but it was very obvious she had drank a little more then she should have "Laila?" I say walking over "Huh?" She says turning but just based off her eye movements and lack of clarity in her voice she was tipsy on the verge of drunk "I think you've had enough liquor" I say grabbing the bottle "Ahh" she says reaching for it but stumbles a little, I handed the bottle to Octavia "Set this on the counter while I get this one to her room" I say picking Laila up "Alright missy, you've had to much to drink" I say. I carried her to her room much to her drunken delight once we got to her room I set her down in her bed "Pajamas!" She says like a child, I sighed and help get her undressed and into her pajamas before laying her down in the bed and pulling the blanket over her, she snuggled herself in with a pillow as I left the room closing the door and headed back to the living room sitting down next to Octavia "Thought she wasn't a drinker?" She asked "She's been easing up a bit, but this was a surprise to me as well" I say "Wouldn't have thought she'd already be drunk" she says "Yes but either way what are you plans? Stay up or head to bed?" I asked "I'm not really sure, I wanted to stay up and chat with you but I'm also tired" she says "Well then get some sleep and we can talk in the morning" I say "Yeah maybe your right" she says getting up when I got an idea, I picked her up much to her surprise "Y/n! I can walk myself there!" She says "I know, but this is more fun" I say she shook her head and smiled as I took her up to her room and set her down in the bed "I swear you act like everyone's dad" she says "Is that inherently a bad thing?" I asked "Not entirely, have a good night" she says "Have a good night Octavia" I say closing the door, I was about to head to my room when I heard a loud crash and immediately knew it was Laila, I walked to her room and peaked inside to find her laying on the floor wrapped in her blanket still clinging to the pillow, I sighed and walked over leaning over top of her "Hehe my hero!" She says "Maybe I miss judged how drunk you really are" I say kneeling down to pick her up and set her back in bed but this time closer to the middle "Now you sit still and don't roll out of bed again" I say but she was too far gone to recognize what I had just told her. I went to leave again "Stay!" She says "What?" I asked, I watched as she patted the bed next to her "Laila never in your right mind would you ask me this" I say walking back over, she groaned a little but opened her blanket "No Laila, I'm not sharing a blanket with you, you'll freak out in the morning if I did" I say "But I suppose I should stay with you, I know what's coming to you in the morning, you probably don't" I say so I laid down next to her in bed, I was fortunate enough it was rather warm out so I didn't need a blanket to be comfortable, but Laila seemed to be persistent and tossed part of her blanket over me I pulled it off "No Laila" I say she got a pouty face so I wrapped her in her blanket tightly and set her on her pillow "There now back to sleep, your going to have a rough morning in a few hours" I say, eventually she dozed off as did I.

I was woken up early in the morning when she scrambled out of bed and ran to the washroom to puke her guts out, I stretched and got out of bed grabbing the blanket and the glass she had on her night stand before heading to the washroom behind her, I found her with her head in the toilet regurgitating her drinks from last night, I poured out the old stale water and filled it up with fresh water for her "Drink this, it will help calm your stomach" I say setting in next to her she groaned in response. I wrapped the blanket around her and knelt down beside her "So you got drunk, what happened?" I asked "Too into the show and forgot how much I was drinking" she says before puking more, I snickered slightly "So how's your first time getting drunk? Aside from this" I asked "I hate it..." she says "Really cause last night you were having the time of your life, even after falling out of bed" I say "What happened last night? I don't remember much" she says taking a drink from the glass "Well I came home with Octavia as she wanted to stay here for the night and we found you drunk on the couch, I took the bottle from you before carrying you to bed, much to your delight" I say "Ahh" she says hiding her face in the blanket "After that I put you to bed and went back to the couch for a bit with Octavia who promptly went to bed as well, I heard you fall out of bed so I went in and got you back into bed where you were rather persistent on me sleeping with you, given I knew what was coming this morning I stayed with you incase anything happened but refused to let you share your blanket with me much to your disappointment" I say. I heard her groan under the blanket making me smile, I wrapped my arms around her "You know if it wasn't for you not wanting a relationship with me you'd have been rather fun to be around last night" I say "Shut it" she says "Just saying" I say "Thanks I guess, for making sure I was okay last night and helping me this morning" she says "You've given up a lot to look after Eli and my sister, it's only fair I do the same for you" I say as she peaked out of the blanket to see me giving her a warm smile, she slowly came out of the blanket and reached out wrapping it around me in a hug "Maybe I am ready for a relationship" she says "Well I'm happy to accept" I say. We got up and walked out of her washroom "Did you change me into my pajamas last night?" She asked "Only at your request and no, I kept my hands and eyes to myself" I say "Okay" she says slightly embarrassed "Now get changed, given we just solved an issue for Lucifer I have my doubts we'll be working today so let's do something together" I say making her smile "A real date?" She asked "I mean technically we've already had a few nights and you just wouldn't admit it" I say "Har har, let me get changed while you get breakfast started, we still have a guest and Eli to watch" she says "Since when do you give me orders?" I asked "Since you've been trying to get with me" she says making me laugh "I'll let it slide, this time" I say before I left the room and made my way down the hallway where I heard the Tv on, I peaked into the room and found Eli sitting on the floor watch his cartoons. I continued on my way to the kitchen and was about to begin making breakfast when I got a hit of reality "Lucifer ain't going to be happy about this..." I say aloud "Happy about what!?" Octavia asked panicked "Laila and I together, he's not very happy about her even being alive let alone in a relationship with me, but I suppose I do have a way of convincing him of things he'd otherwise be against" I say "Y/n it's too dangerous" she says "I'll be okay, as I've said I have a way of convincing him" I say "Just... no you can't he'll kill her or you" she says "He won't kill me and I won't let him kill her not without it hurting him in the process" I say "Y/n...." She says "Enough Octavia let me do my thing, this will all go over fine" I say pulling my phone out and calling Lucifer directly "Hello my boy, what can I do?" He asked "We need to have a conversation, it's urgent" I say and in the blink of an eye I was in his office and next to me was his daughter "What's the issue?" He asked "Dad I was" she says but he held his hand up "Later Charlie, he has some more pressing matters then your little hotel" he says "I know I said urgent but it's not that urgent, finish up with her first" I say "No, the hotel can wait it's her pet project anyways. I want nothing to do with it" he says, Charlie got up and walked out of the room very clearly upset slamming the door "Whats got her in such a fowl mood?" He asked before turning his attention back to me "So this issue?" He asked "Ahhh Laila and I have struck up a relationship with one another" I say and watched as his smile disappears "You what?" He says "Yeah, ahh her and I are dating" I say "No" he says "Can I at least explain?" I asked "No" he says "Sir your making a poor decision" I say "How? I will not let my best degrade himself with such filth!" He says "Sir you know me, you know at my heart I'm a good person and if there's anyone in all of hell who can fill that spot in my heart for loving partner it's her" I say "What does that filth have that's so filling to you!?" He asked "I can trust her, she's done more for my family then you could ever imagine, she's broken her own morals and sinned to look after my son. To have such dedication it's hard not to get feelings for her, she's shown me she can help raise a family with my morals" I say, he grumbled some so I continued "Sir her and I work together, she's gone against her morals to fulfill your orders and keep me safe despite if anyone found out the truth about her being basically harmless would put her life at risk. She's done stuff for you as well, and yes I know you've done things for her in granting her wings and some power back, but those were at my request to do your work. I know your not evil, even tho I've sinned since being down here you've allowed me to continue on. She and I are happy together, we get our work done without incident and have both improved your life" I say taking a breath having basically spilled my entire plea to him. "Fine but now you have to pick" he says "Pick sir?" I asked "Beezlebub hasn't done a single thing about the issues she's caused, you gave her a day to fix them but she threw another party where some of my men said she didn't think you'd actually let it happen and would convince me otherwise. So you get to choose either you and your little Angel get to be happy or her and that mutt get to be. Either her or him" he says before suddenly I was back at my house sitting on the couch. I had a dead pan stare at the wall given the fact I had to pick either Laila or Vortex and I had to assume if I didn't kill Vortex Lucifer would kill Laila "Y/n?" Octavia asked putting her hand on my shoulder "Y yeah?" I say "How'd things go?" She asked "Not exactly good, but...." I say as Laila came into the room carrying Eli on her shoulders the pair laughing "But?" She asked "I... I have to kill Vortex..." I say "Who exactly?" She asked "Beezlebubs boyfriend, and a close friend of mine. She didn't do anything to fix her mistakes and now has to pay the price" I say making the room go dead silent, Laila walked over and set Eli down next me who I immediately grabbed and pulled over into my arms "Laila, I need you to take care of this. I can't do it myself" I say in a very somber voice "Y/n" she begins to say "No! It's either him or you and I'm not letting it be you" I say "It's Beezlebubs mistake not yours or my fault, this is the consequences of her decision, even if I let it be you Lucifer will just kill one of them anyways, so just go and do it!" I snapped, the mark on her neck lit up as it was an order. She left the room the mark not giving her a choice in the matter and soon she left the house while I sat on the couch holding Eli and repeating in my head that this wasn't my fault.
