The light faded as darkness took over the sky, ethreal sounds from the wind singing filled the village as things began to settle down. Kiri combed out one last braid from Eleis hair. "Oh my eywa my hands are about to fall off!" She joked.
Elei rolled her eyes and playfully slapped Kiri, "stop being a baby it wasn't even that many braids" she stuck her tongue out. "Hey do I look okay?" Kiri questioned while looking in the water at her reflection. Elei raised a brow "Kiri don't worry roxto will think you're a total babe"
Kiri crossed her arms and rolled her eyes "ok and how about you and aonung?" She smartly replied while staring at her waiting for an answer. Elei wrapped her arms around herself "ew fish lips? I don't like him"
A small smile crept onto Kiris lips, she pointed a finger at Elei "I see the way you two look at each other sister don't lie" she laughed. Elei tossed her head back and sighed before looking at her sister "ok fine don't tell anyone else, not even Tuk okay?" Kiris eyes lit up and she nodded while moving her fingers to her lips and doing a zipping motion on her lips. Elei smiled as she used her hands to smooth out her jet black hair.
"I think I love him, everything feels so easy with him you know? He's so sweet once you get past his asshole side" she explained while playing with a strand of her hair. Kiri jumped up and hugged Elei, "sister! Ugh you guys are too cute" the two girls spun around and giggled.
Aonung walked past the sully Marui pod making eye contact with Elei as he continued to walk. The girls smile dropped when she seen the look in his eyes, "I'll be back ok Kiri?" She assured her little sister before walking out the marui towards aonung.
When she got close enough to him she brushed her four fingers against his hand before backing away a bit to not draw any unwanted attention. "What's wrong ma aonu?" She played with her fingers while staring into his blue eyes.
Aonung looked down at her with a look of urgency evident in his eyes. "Be mine tonight yawne" he whispered sweetly as he grabbed both of her hands. Eleis lips parted slightly as she grazed her thumb over his knuckles. "Aonu what will your parents think? You're promised to iya I- they would outcast my family?" She rambled as tears glistened in her eyes.
Aonung sucked in the moist island air while looking around, "pretend they don't exist okay?" He mumbled while moving a piece of hair from her face. "What would you say?" He questioned while studying the look on her face. The girl sniffled and closed her eyes "I would say that I'm ready to be yours ma aonu.." her sweet voice made his palms begin to sweat, he swore he could hear his heart talk as it thumped hearing the words that flowed out of her mouth.
A small smirk made its way onto his lips "then it tis decided yawne" he gave her hand a gentle squeeze. Eleis eyes fluttered open to see a very pleased aonung. She then looked away from him, "what about your final steps to become a warrior? O-or your coming of age ceremony? Your parents will rip me apart and feed me to the tulkun!" She hissed softly as she pulled her hands away from him.
Aonung chuckled before clasping his hand with hers, "agh we will tell them once I am a warrior" Elei pouted and shook her head. He then pursed his lips together "ok fine we will tell both of our parents after our coming of age ceremony" he mumbled. Elei titled her head and stuck her bottom lip out further. Aonung sucked his teeth "fine a few days after the ceremony we will tell them" he corrected himself.
Eleis eyes lit up like a little kid who caught their first fish. She jumped up and down "I'm so excited ma aonu!" She giggled as she calmed herself down. Aonung smiled and nodded "come my love, let's go explore eh?" He asked while letting her hand go once he noticed some villagers approaching them.
