Mild trigger warning but nothing happens

His quirk didn't manifest.

Even in a world filled with unique individuals, being isolated for one's looks was commonplace.

Douma had to deal with one such world.

Most thought he had a quirk dealing with his colorful eyes but that only resulted in bullying.

He grew up to smile through the physical pain, not understanding emotions all the while.

Not till she came to his rescue.

Middle school, he made his way to the rooftop, looking over the ledge. Thinking about how fast would the ground come to meet his face.

His calves were bunching to jump up on the ledge when the door suddenly opened.

"Wow, it's such a beautiful day!" Douma finds himself looking at a young girl coming to his side, with emerald eyes and blue hair. Her gaze finds his.

"Isn't it?"

Kotoha was her name.

She would find him, enjoying his company. A new transfer student that would soon be known for her voice-enhancement quirk. Like a siren is what Douma thought, listening to her.

The bullying got easier as he hung out with Kotoha.

"You know, I plan on becoming a hero." Douma looked to his side where they were hanging out against a tree.

A bird starts tweeting above them and Douma can't help but point it out.

"Songbird."

Kotoha smiles at that.

"It would be a good hero name."

They sadly parted come high school. She would get accepted into a top hero academy and Douma would make buddies with a group known as the Kizuki.

His quirk would finally manifest when a hero came to attack.

A thrill went down his spine watching the pro hero fall to his knees, unable to breathe as his lungs froze over.

Douma couldn't help but laugh, frost leaving his mouth.

Songbird would debut as a top 50 new heroes and Douma couldn't help but buy some of her merch when they started to roll out.

Even when Kotoha was a pro, Douma continued to gain rank till he was a Uppermoon. His leader would enhance his ability with a power-up. Douma gained more speed, strength, and bloodlust. He thought the fangs were neat.

Then when neither were doing their new careers, they found each other again.

It was fall when they met again, winter when they fell in love, and spring when they married.

"The group known as Kizuki has struck again."

Douma is only mildly paying attention, bouncing Inosuke on his knee. The baby of a few months was laughing at the motion.

"Let's see if we can find Mama, Inosuke." Inosuke cried out in agreement and soon his son was laughing watching his mom on screen doing hero work.

A smile came to Douma's face.

The only hero a villain like him can love.
