It had been nighttime when she heard the knock. The seas were rough this particular night she could hear the crash of the waves up on the hill of the estate where she and the family she married lived.

Kotoha walks slowly, wincing as she directs a hand to her midsection. Only a few more months and soon she would soon give birth.

The servants were gone and so her husband expected her to answer no matter if it was the middle of the night.

She opens the door to a man. A handsome one with silvery hair who grins her way once the door reveals him fully. Boots that hit the wood with a thunk.

"Hello, my name is Douma." His rainbow eyes glance down at her figure and she doesn't take note of the fangs that show in his smile.

"May I come in to rest?"

It was a trap.

Though Douma had charmed her, offering his arm as he distracted her away from how others sneak in. Even walking with her and chatting about everything and nothing.

"So are you excited to become a mother?" Douma asked an hour into his stay and Kotoha nodded, not noticing the blush forming on her.

"Yes, I can't wait till they are born. Though...." Douma tilts his head, leaning in to hear the rest of her answer. "My husband isn't nearly as thrilled at the idea of having a little one."

Douma's eyes don't stop twinkling.

Shame really.

Good thing the bastard won't have to worry about his wife and unborn child any longer.

Fear strikes Kotoha when she smells smoke and sees the glow of fire. When she gets up, Douma stops her and scoops her like she weighs nothing.

"I do apologize Kotoha-chan, but there is nothing for you to worry about."

That was when Douma kicked down the wall with ease, walking outside and leaping into the air. From above, clenching hard on the man who was kidnapping her, she watches as the estate is burned to the ground.

They are falling and she hides her head in Douma's shoulder, not wanting to see where they land.

It was soft with only the sway of Douma shifting and soon she could hear the lapping of water hitting wood. She looks up to the creak of sails and finds herself on a ship.

She looks to Douma, who is now grinning down at her, a newly placed pirate hat on his head.

"WE SET SAIL !"

Douma was Uppermoon Two of the Kizuki fleet under the infamous pirate Muzan. It was said this pirate was cursed after believing he had found the fountain of youth.

It turned him and his crew at the time into demons.

Not that Douma minds, a bit annoying to have to have mostly humans on the ship to take care of the Uppermoon on board when the sun bothered them too much. The only drawback along with the hunger for human flesh.

This is why the government has made an organization to collect their bounties.

But enough about him, his songbird is finally done with being seasick.

Kotoha comes back to bed for the evening, her belly huge now as she nears the end of her pregnancy. Douma purrs as he cuddles her from behind. She is comforted by his lower body temperature as the night was a humid one.

It had been two months since he had taken her away from her husband who owned his leader money. It would turn out that she was neglected at the estate.

Now she was as free as the wind that blows their sails.

He doesn't understand it but he came quite attached to her and she easily fell for his charms.

Perhaps he'll become less active in the coming years in order to help her raise her child. He would very much like to change up his life in that regard, especially with how his crew runs like a cult following his every whim.

The child would hear his tales of gold and glory as he grows and maybe he would become his first mate.
