Kotoha Hashibira an Idol wanting to take some time off, to focus on what made her music genuine. She had gone to a mountain village, renting a house where an old couple hosted her. They didn't know her that well, having only seen her face on cereal for a sponsorship. She gave her autograph and gratuity.
"Honey, please, it's ill advice to travel when it's about to snow." Kotoha nodded, putting on her boots. She had gotten a car up her and needed to return to society, her manager was expecting her.
"Don't worry, I'll call when I get down."
—
The crunching of snow was faintly heard as Kotoha drifted in and out of consciousness. She was being carried, up a hill before all went black.
—
She heard her voice. It was going through a speaker that couldn't have been new, easily older than ten years old with how crusty it sounded.
She could hear the hum of a male voice as he moved around her before she opened her eyes.
The man's back was to her, where she lay on a futon. In the corner on a desk was a cd player, something she hasn't seen in ages.
The man was tall and had quite long and well-kept hair, the only thing strange was it was platinum blonde.
Then he turns to her after fixing something near the player.
Never before would she be enchanted by eyes like his.
Rainbow eyes seem to twinkle at her seeing her awake.
"Oh hello! I'm glad you're awake, my name is Douma!" The man's smile was charming and she couldn't help the blush that raced to her cheeks. She winces when she felt a pain shot through her head and Douma would hand her some water.
—
She would learn she crashed her car and the storm had hit before Douma could take her to town. He did carry her to his home, a shrine that is sadly isolated from everything but the snow shouldn't be an issue.
The problem was no access to anything else. No cell service, wifi, radio, or even a landline.
The only piece of technology the young man had was his cd player, where he had a few albums he plays.
One just so happened to be one of her earlier ones.
He didn't know that because her stage name was Ladybird.
No, he didn't figure that out till her voice got better.
—
"Wait, she left?""Yes, is she not with you?"
—
She had a concussion. That's all. Well, that and a few bruises but that isn't a problem for Douma.
He grins a few days in as she innocently asks when the snow would be walkable.
"Probably soon but we'll wait till you're better. You can barely stand the lights being on. Only a candle." Kotoha would nod and Douma left.
Leaving the room, down a hallway to where his congregation was meeting.
"Let's begin!"
—
Muzan was slain and his uppermoons lived.Kokushibo wanted to go on a last raid and Akaza would go with him.
A very sad day indeed when by the time Douma arrived, the current generation of Hashira had killed them.
Now he was the last of his kind. Though that never bothered him. Muzan's blood lived in him and all he would need to do was be able to control blood manipulation.
So over the course of some decades, Douma would test if he had the same skills as his lord and it wouldn't be that simple.
He still fed on his followers.
Till the day they found the flower his master had once sought.
It was foul to eat but now he could walk in the sun.
He would learn of technical advances and get a small record player before getting a small cd player. Not anything to exciting but Douma didn't much care to leave his cult.
.
..
...
Yet...One day, having decided to hunt, he heard a voice on a 'phone'.
"Guys, we did it! We reached ten thousand followers. I'll be releasing a limited edition of my album. Get it while you can."
It was Kotoha...
So of course with the dead person's money he had just killed, he ordered and had it sent to the address.
The young woman would be found in a ditch later having been preserved long enough but that's beside the point.
Douma would listen to her sing and outside of the quality of the speaker it was like she was there.
It couldn't replace the real deal.
—
"You're Ladybird! I had just picked this up at the store. Wow, I can't believe I have you here! Please do sing for me!"Her blush was adorable and Douma sat back as she began to sing.
A twinkle in his eye was starting to show again as he swallowed back his hunger.
Oh, he so wants to devour her.
But not like last time.
She wouldn't be escaping her cage this time.
