The Rainbow Eyed Devil and His Songbird

Five year old Inosuke

"Lord Founder, we have some looking for asylum at your temple." Douma looks up from his current activity, a scroll his master had wanted him to look through.

"Oh, let me meet them now!" Douma gets up, fixing his hat upon his head, and goes to his throne room.

When he arrives, he finds a panicked woman looking around his throne, only to pop up when he was arrival is announced. He waves his attendant off, before approaching the young woman. She is bandage over her eye along with scattered bruises on exposed skin.

Douma smiles politely nonetheless, offering his hand to her so she can get up from her crouch position. She looks quite delicious.

"Hello, my name is Douma." Before his hand could touch her a creak is heard from above. When he looks up, the woman is gasping and crying out.

"Inosuke, No!"

A small boy of barely five launches himself from the pillar that stretches across the ceiling.

Douma only raises his brow as the boy lets out a cry, his foot aiming for his head.

"GET AWAY FROM MY MOTHER!" The small boy's attack doesn't hurt but he does allow it to rock him to the ground.

Inosuke would be talked to by his mother, then the beautiful woman was bowing to apologize to him.

Douma waves his hand, grinning even as the boy crosses his arms. Douma would spot as his arms revealed more bruises.

Slowly more pieces are connecting in his head. He can only wait for all to be told to him.

The young mother confesses all after she send Inosuke off to join the congregation for early dinner.

She was abused since her son was born. She had protected him while his father began to neglect his role as a father. Douma finds her story interesting and allows her to stay.

Her son will be alone because the youngest are young adults.

But it was better than her husband continuing to harm her and Inosuke.

Inosuke did not like the man that was the leader. He was too nice. Always smiling and commenting on how lovely his mother looked.

It was better than how his father looked at her but it didn't sit right with him.

Something was truly odd and he didn't like it.

Inosuke would try but the moment his mother went stiff, he was already in front of her only to see his father.

He wants to fight him but he is a man, so much stronger than him.

But he would bite the hand that was reaching out to grab her arm-

A closed fan smacks the man on the wrist and Douma forces himself between his parents.

"That is rude sir. I won't let such behavior under my roof."

Inosuke would turn holding onto his mother's kimono as Douma continued to push his father and grandmother.

It would end with Douma dismissing them and turning to them.

Douma smiles, asking if they are alright.

Inosuke looks up to his mom when she kneels and hugs Inosuke close.

"Yes, we are alright."

That night, Inosuke was taken.

He cries out as his father carries him away under his arm. It had taken one hit to the head for him to start crying.

"Shut up you bastard! Your mother-" Inosuke falls when something warm lands on his hair. He touches his head and finds it red. He looks back only to see a golden fan blocking it. Inosuke follows the hand and finds Douma.

Douma's eyes are bright and his smile is wide.

"Come Inosuke let's get you home. Your mother is worried." When the man picks him up, his head lying on his shoulder, Inosuke finds the slumped form of his father, lacking a head.

His small hands fist into Douma's shirt but he was too tired to think about how this man easily killed his father.

Inosuke had lightened up when it came to Douma that Kotoha was smiling more often.

She was even getting much more comfortable around Douma.

To the point a year later, she didn't mind when he kissed her cheek.

Inosuke would come upon them when they do kiss each other for the first time in public.

Douma would grin later, even as Inosuke tried wrestling him from his chair.

He couldn't wait to tell the child he was going to be a big brother.
