Douma sighs as he leaves the office for the first time since dawn. Night had come and he was walking back to his pathetic apartment. The park was at least quiet this time, especially during winter.

His hair long and eyes being colorful made him abnormal already but looking up at the moon, he can't help but feel a thrill run through him. The evening was calling to him.

Oh, how he wanted to answer the call.

His eyes glow when he hears a whimper.

His nose crunch and walks to some bushes. Under the bush, he finds a puppy.

A puppy with blue tips runs down its back. The puppy had wide eyes looking at him, big emerald eyes watching him, and terror becoming thick as it's nose twitched.

Douma throws on a smile.

"Hey, I'm not going to hurt you." Douma looks around, confirming no one is around before looking back at the pup. His eyes glowed more, his hand gain claws and finally, a pair of wolf ears appeared on his head.

The puppy uncurled itself and Douma could tell the poor thing was a boy. His ears disappear once the puppy is calmer with him.

He reaches out and this time, the puppy is fine with him getting closed. The puppy curls in his arms and Douma sniffs him closer. He was younger than he thought, well-fed and big but his fur was still soft, not coarse.

"Don't transform back yet." The puppy nods, his breathing becoming soft as he falls asleep. The poor thing must have been out for a while, lost.

Douma sniffs the puppy again and then the wind.

Soon he was walking.

Kotoha had been running around all day.

The one day she left Inosuke at daycare for a job interview, he bolts from the playground, jumping over the fence that would stop any other five-year-old but not her boy.

Her son was a wolf child.

She wish she knew better but she was a generation that the gift skipped. In a way, her son felt alone and isolated, wanting to run free.

She just wanted to give him as much as she could but she was just a single mother-

"Excuse me." She looks up from her depressed episode, to see a man with platinum blonde wild hair and rainbow eyes.

"Yes?" She wipes her tears and the man throws a smile at her.
"I believe this cutie is yours." The man whose scarf had been bundled up in his arms moves it to reveal a sleeping pup.

Her tears are refreshed.

"Inosuke!" The puppy is quick to awaken and the man hands the pup to its mother, shedding his jacket to hide the reunion. The pup transforms into a boy with no clothes but he doesn't care, he is back with his mother.

Kotoha would cross paths more and more often with Douma after that. The man is a wolf more than he cares to admit. He was of a more pureblood line, able to control himself transformation-wise.

In any other regard-

"Kotoha-chan, do you know you smell so sweet?" Kotoha when her parents were alive had told as much and Inosuke would tell her the same. This however was the first time she had encountered a male wolf. Inosuke's father left shortly after he was born and wasn't wanting the responsibility of a parent.

It was quite the whiplash, having someone who was like them, who was interested. She would often watch Douma, in his large wolf form, play with Inosuke, both as a boy and pup. Mostly a wolf pup, because he could expel the most energy and show he was just like him.

It makes her heart swell at how much happier her son was to be around another wolf.

It didn't help when that same wolf seem to feel the same for both Inosuke and her.

His literal wolfish charms were easy to fall for.

"I smell sweet, Douma?" Kotoha questions and he nods more eagerly.

One evening, after Kotoha had come back from her part-time job, she opens her apartment to Douma curled up around Inosuke. His large wolf form was a great pillow for the young pup.

She goes to the bathroom coming out to find Douma smiling at her, leaning against the door frame.

"Kotoha-chan, you know I like you right?" His fangs were showing and Kotoha nodded. A light blush comes to her as he leans into her space.

"Do you like me, Kotoha?" There's a playful glint in his eyes as he watches her, something animalistic in nature taking over.

Inosuke remains curled up on the couch that night, too tuckered out and full on takeout that Douma had bought. It was delicious. His mother was too humble to take money from Douma, even when it was something small.

The pup curls tighter around the plush wolf Douma had gifted him that evening, it smelled of sweet tempura, his favorite.

Douma would nuzzle her hair, coating her in his scent even when she knew she must smell like him already. He rumbled in his chest as sleep took her.

Douma would help them move out of the city, his work had become boring and restricting.

He much rather run free in the countryside with his son, hunting fresh meat for his wife.

Douma in his large wolf form with Inosuke, would come bounding to the porch, transforming but both still holding poultry in their mouths, showing the spoils of their hunt to Kotoha.

His mate, his beautiful Kotoha, would laugh and tell them to dress and clean it outside. Douma would show Inosuke how to do it using his claws.

He would need to know if more pups come into the household.

Douma throws a glance over his shoulder, scenting the air before grinning.

It might just be sooner than he thinks.
