The top three Kizuki and their lord had been cursed.

Muzan had a run-in with a similar being like him but one that was of no interest upon seeing that she too wasn't what he was looking for.

It was a Yamauba, a witch. She had known that Muzan wanted to be left to his own devices, preferably alone.

"I curse you to seek acknowledgment, your loyal servants also needing to feel validated." The witch cackles and soon the cabin she had been staying in was destroyed under Muzan's power.

He felt nothing. Not like the fear of being slain by Yoriichi's blade in only a few moves.

Then he killed nearly fifty of his demons.

Soon he was falling to his knees, weak like a human and crawling like a worm.

He roars.

Kokushibo felt weaker the day his lord killed the demons, though he fought through it. His hands still shake.

Akaza deals with the same.

The only one unaffected would be Douma as he is worshiped by his congregation.

Strength rises and falls through the following decades. Akaza is forced to spare some of his opponents so fear of his skill can spread. Kokushibo would have to let his talent known so he too retain his title.

Uppermoon Two hadn't felt any of those effects.

Then they perish.

Though with how beloved he was than feared, one demon lived on to the modern day.

Till-

A camera flashes and Kotoha lowers her device, looking around the temple.

It was old and since abandoned.

She doesn't believe this so-called gracious one ever existed.

"They say if you call for him at his beloved lotus pond, he will appear to listen to your story." Was what the older lady had said before asking what she wanted, even when she had just said it. It was sad but she is polite and kind to the woman, asking again where this temple was.

She thinks about it, the sun going down and needing to leave.

"Gracious One..." The wind picks up before dying just as quickly. Kotoha shrugs and leaves the temple.

She makes it to her car and stops at the hotel she stays at. She waits, wanting to ask about when check out was.

She looks up, thinking she has heard the door open but finds it closed.

The door is shut when she looks up.

The receptionist comes shortly after that.

Deep into the night, a shadow stands over the slumbering woman. A clawed hand brushes her hair.

"Nice to see you again Kotoha-chan...Perhaps, you can love me this time."

Last time he had plenty of followers, now only because she was interested in his 'myth' can he manifest as a physical being.

He needed her to love him. To fall for him was better than any amount of fear. Even if it transforms to be a mix of the two, he would fully be able to live again.
