Last time on The Breaking Point...

A boy from Hoenn named Ronnie has one ultimate goal. Become a champion.

After the tragic passing of his mother, he swore to become strong enough to defend his loved ones.

He applied for GBA, one of the top academies in the world, all the way down in the tropical city of Riotro, Sandsap City.

He's met many friends up until this point and has even made a big enemy in Team Trinity.

He'd first encounter Team Trinity during his first geography project, where he protected an escaped Riolu from a group of grunts.

After sustaining an injury to the head during the battle, he'd start to have nightmares and even had a violent flash against the group of grunts.

During the stretch between that and the Alola field trip, Ronnie figures he should try for a Z-Move during the trip.

And after several losses, he believes he needs it for Zangoose's confidence.

Meanwhile, the start of a new battle for Ronnie and his friends has started, with the encounters of Shadow Pokemon following them.

After a corrupt Gyarados put their teacher in the hospital and forced them to bring in a sub, Mr. Vernon.

In a mini-arc where Ronnie has a short reunion with his dad, Riolu's senses go haywire, and he senses an "evil presence" in the city.

Using Riolu's excellent aura-sensing abilities, they track down the evil presence as the corrupt Gyarados.

Along with fellow students Layna and Jen, and a last-minute save from Vix, they put an end to Gyarados' rampage.

Vix takes all 4 of them to a restaurant where he explains to them what Gyarados is.

He explained that they were created by a man that goes by Lucifer, and the corrupt Pokemon were an ongoing issue in Hoenn after Ronnie left.

Using technology they're making abnormally strong and angry Pokemon, and plan to use them like foot soldiers.

In the following chapter, the SandSap games, an annual event in SandSap City where 64 duos enter a series of games.

The top 14 duos would enter a tournament, and the winner would win a grand prize of money.

Onto the field trip.

Ronnie and his friends planned out the week, and Ronnie would take on the normal trial on the second day.

After easily getting past the first part of the trial, Ronnie goes to take on the Totem Gumshoos.

But Ronnie felt something was up with it. It ended up being corrupt, making the battle more difficult and dangerous than before.

The battle is extremely tough, but after barely making it out alive, Ronnie gets the Normalium Z.

Then all of a sudden, a strange Pokemon quickly swaps it out for a Firium Z, with the reasoning being unknown.

After Ronnie and Keandre crash a party, causing a chunk of students to be expelled from GBA and sent home, several battles happen.

Ronnie tests out his Firium Z in a furious battle against Declan, and Dontre dominates over Keandre, and beats Dylan, the island Kahuna, in a nail biter battle.

The next day, Ronnie took out Lauren to go shopping. And while waiting outside he encounters Braeden.

Braeden explains to him something he mentioned the previous day, the Riotro Regional Cup.

The bracket is split into 2 groups, people of and above the age of 18, and everyone else.

And at the end, the winner of the whole tournament faces the champion in one last battle.

Afterward, Keandre goes to Dylan, seeking advice or help on getting stronger. Dylan tells him about a powerful Pokemon out in the wild, and Keandre goes to capture it.

When everyone else arrives at what they thought would be Keandre's grand trial battle, they end up having a trial of their own.

Catch a Pokemon.

After staying with Lauren for her catch, Ronnie hears the loud cry of a Pokemon and immediately sprints after it.

He finds out a kid is being attacked and saves the kid with Riolu.

And as he's about to take it on, Declan comes in and captures it.

Declan recognizes the kid as Professor Cortez's kid, Jordan, and the trio takes him back to his house.

As a thank you, the professor gives him an unknown egg.

The following day, Ronnie and Dontre are watching an exhibition match of the champion for Riotro's anniversary.

After seeing the dominating display from her Mewtwo, Sariah comes by and takes Dontre away.

Not much later, he gets another knock at his door.

Even with a loud voice in his warning him not to, he opens it up anyway.

An intimidating man stood in the frame, with a Sceptile by his side.

The Sceptile thrashed around the room, trying to get Ronnie.

Ronnie gets out of the room looking for the man, but he already disappeared.

He continues to run away until he reaches the lobby floor, where he is slashed by Sceptile.

Braeden pops in and takes on the Sceptile, and the man walks into the room.

Everyone else goes outside, revealing that Team Trinity started a terrorist attack on Hau'oli City.

Everyone splits up to stop the attack.

Ronnie and Lauren go to get the Kahuna to assist them, but they are stopped by 2 admins whose names are revealed to be Jetto and Guiverno.

After taking them down, the leader steps in, making the two admins start the true operation.

His Sceptile easily takes down Zangoose and Garchomp, leaving them in a sticky situation.

Ronnie decides to take advantage of Sceptile's fatigue and will stay behind to take him on while Lauren goes to get the Kahuna.

And with a fierce battle, using momentum to keep Sceptile on the ropes, and a trophy of friendship in evolution, Ronnie and Lucario cause the leader to flee.

Ronnie wanted to chase him down, but Lucario was too weak to keep going.

Braeden comes out of the hotel, questioning Ronnie.

After talking for a bit, a giant airship rises out of the water, causing the ground to shake.

The airship takes off toward Akala Island, and Ronnie and Braeden call everyone to meet at the port to follow it.
