As Y/N and Lightning were walking away from Santalune city and headed back to Lumiose, someone caught his eyes.

"Y/N..." Serena said upon seeing him. Y/N nodded and calmly walked past the girl. But he noticed she had a Fennekin next to her.

"Hm..." Y/N recognized the Fennekin and it recognized him. Fennekin immediately began to growl at Y/N and Lightning growled back.
"Fennekin... what's wrong?" Serena asked her partner only for Y/N to clarify.
"Sorry, Fennekin... I wanted the best for my team... I apologize for my harsh words." Y/N said to the Pokémon who looked up in surprise, as did Serena.
"Wait... did you just apologize?" Serena asked still not sure of what she heard.
"Yeah... I did... don't push it... Anyways, you going to challenge the Gym?" Y/N asked, and Serena shook her head.
"No... I... saw someone in Lumiose that I wanted to see again... his name is Ash... and-" Serena stopped talking as she saw Y/N's face sour.
"Serena... what do you want with him? You're only I don't dislike... don't change that for me..." Y/N said blankly and again Serena was unsure of what she was hearing.
"Wait... what?! I-I... what?" Serena said and Y/N calmly turned to face her.
"You're the only one I don't dislike... Calem, Tierno, Trevor and Shauna are all annoying... but you... you were never annoying or even bothered me... you just... you're a lot calmer than the others. Not really annoying... plus you're cute..." Y/N said casually making Serena blush. She looked down and Y/N sighed.
"Don't get the wrong idea... I'm very focused on my goal of being the champion. But... if you want to join me on my goal... you can..." Y/N said keeping a calm stance.
"I... w-wow... Y/N, that's nice... b-but, but I think I'm gonna go find Ash and my friends..." Serena said as she waved and walked away with Fennekin following.
Y/N watched the girl for a moment. Admiring her long hair as he sighed, he finally decided to open up a little and it didn't pan out. Y/N's fists clenched as he turned and continued his journey to Lumiose city.
