Look inside my head what do you see,
Could it be a man trapped in the wrong body,
Or a lover trying to overcome past trauma as it haunts them every time their eyes close,
How about a person struggling to hold onto life by a very thin piece of string.
A brain overflowing with everlasting memories,
Flashes of pain from that past that hits like a tidal wave,
How about a nervous system that's not sure which should remain on and which to shut off.
Maybe a heart that is held together by thousands of pieces of tape,
For it has been shattered and destroyed by the very people who promised to hold it near,
Do you see a parent trying his best to give his daughter everything?
What about a pair of eyes that have witnessed so much it brings tears inside,
How about a man on his knees at his wits end for he don't know where his life went so wrong,
Or maybe a man who just wants to feel love and be free instead feels like he's a bird locked inside a cage being told how to live.
How about the fact that each memory can be depicted to seem so real as if you're reliving it all over again,
When you look at me do you see the tears running down my face like the rain that pours from the sky when it rains,
When I smile do you think it is real or do you see right through me do you see the truth behind the smile that i try so hard to keep.Copyright ©️2023 by Hunter Luis Mylen
