The hearts demise.

What is my heart's demise,
Could it be, knowing that your two's twisted love intertwines,
Or the words you spoke to me you say to another,
My feelings were real, but your love was not,
You say don't hate you, but how could I not,
I gave you my heart, the most fragile of my body parts,
You said you'd protect it, but you stabbed it instead,
I believed every word, thinking they were true, but the one thing that was real surely wasn't you,
You whisper sweet words and bat those eyes, I felt like I was lost in time,
But when it came down to it, your true colors showed,
Your heart can belong to another because I will no longer fight,
I hate that I was foolish enough to be tricked by you, for your skin is scaly like a snake and eyes are bright too good to be true,
You may have fooled me once, but I promise you won't fool me twice,
Because of you, my heart is made of ice,
I no longer view love like it once was, instead, I see it as a war that can never be won,
So what is my heart's true demise?
My dear, the answer is simple and it is you...
