Sometimes people are brought together by tragedy's. Sometimes people are brought together by times of joy. Sometimes, they're brought together by teamwork.

In the case two teens were brought together by a rock and missed footing.

That's how they got here. With Aris's head on Y/N's lap as she carefully cleaned the cuts around his face.

"Hold still. I've got to get all the blood off of you,"She directed, using the wet rag to carefully do so. Noticing that he winced she mumbled an apology before continuing.

"That fall still left quite a mark, but you also took quite a hit. Thankfully, you should be okay. Sore but okay,"You promised though he zoned out a while ago. Not zoning out on you but your words. They went in one ear and out the others. Instead, he was taking in the sound of your voice. To him it was like a sweet summer ballad, as calming as a slight breeze in the heat, and warm as morning rays. Because to him you were the kind of summer that didn't exist anymore. Ones that had cool nights and morning dew.

Not that you know that. You didn't notice the way he had been carefully taking in every one of your features or the little things about you. Things like how you furrowed your eyebrows when you were especially focused or the way your lips upturned into a barely there smile each time you had successfully gotten more of the blood off.

You didn't see the way he had been gazing at your eyes or looking at you in admiration and pure love. You were far too focused on making sure that he was okay.

"Are you alright love?"You asked, spotting the way he was grinning. In your mind he could be in some kind of tired or just delirious state.

In his mind though the girl he's hopelessly in love with was helping him.

What's better is that this time he understood your words. You called him love. While you had been doing that the entire time you've known him it still twisted his stomach into nervous knots. Even if he had sometimes assumed it was more of your accent it always gave him a rush of dopamine to hear.

"Mhm. I'm great,"He wholeheartedly answered.

"Okay love. If you say so,"You sighed.

By now he asked his heart was going to thump out of his chest. The single word was ringing in his ears repeating like a broken record. If it was though it was the only one he would ever play.

"I've just got to bandage it up. You're good to do after that,"You informed him, applying the gauze to his cheek. In his mind this meant the opposite. He didn't want to leave this moment of just you and him. It was the most beautiful thing to exist right now. It was all he wanted.

"Y/N, Brenda's asking for you,"Gally called, knocking on the door before walking in.

"Tell her she's going to have to wait a moment. I'm with Aris right now,"You said back before turning your full attention to him yet still being oblivious to the fact that he was still being completely lovesick.

"Are you sure you're feeling okay now? That you're not too badly hurt?"You whisper. Though you had said he should be fine you wouldn't not double check. Especially, when it came to Aris.

"I'm great,"He repeated.

"That you are my love. I'm going to see what Brenda needs, but I'll see you later,"You promise, pressing a kiss to his forehead.

"I'll save you a seat,"He agrees, as if the routine would ever change. You and him were always together. For you two the Safe Haven would be as unbearable as anything else if it didn't have each other. Some may call that foolish or puppy love. If it was that though you two wouldn't have exchanged nervous glances and shy smiles for the first two years of knowing each other. You wouldn't look at each other the way you do, and that name wouldn't give him butterflies.

What others call it doesn't matter because you two know what it is.

You know that it's love.
