Callie

Around 6, I heard a knock on my door. "Lexie? What are you doing here?"

"Where's Maverick? I tried calling him, but he didn't answer."

"As he should. He has no reason to talk to you."

"Where is he?"

"He left."

"To go where?"

"None of your business."

She glared at Mya when she saw her standing in the kitchen. "Who's she?"

"None of your business."

"Is she Maverick's new girlfriend?"

"Why should you care?"

"Because he is the father of our child, that's why."

Mya nodded. "I know, he told me."

I felt beyond pissed, knowing that my brother didn't even tell me.

"You're pregnant?"

She nodded. "What's her name?"

"I'm Mya, you must be Lexie?"

"Yes. Just so you know, he will still be a part of my life, regardless of if you like it or not."

"Are you bullshitting me right now, Lexie?"

"I am being dead serious. Your brother is the baby daddy."

"I can't believe he didn't tell me."

She shrugged. "Well, know you now. But I am leaving, toodles!"

After I shut the door, I had no idea why Maverick wouldn't have told me. "I can't believe he kept that secret from me."

"He told me two days ago. I was... surprised, but I'm okay with it. But I do question this: What if he cheats on me? He's a hockey player and they can get whatever girl they want."

Callie shook her head. "As pissed as I am, my brother has never cheated, Mya. I promise."

Maverick

After practice ended, I was putting my bag in the bus when I saw Lexie. "Mav!"

"Lexie?"

"Hi!"

Cam looked at me and raised his eyebrows. "What is she doing here?"

"I have no idea."

"What are you doing here, Lexie?"

"I missed you!"

"I have a girlfriend."

She smiled. "Well, I wanted to see you before you left and I see that you didn't tell Callie about our child, so I did it for you."

"Are you serious?"

"Yes."

"Lexie! I could've told my sister."

Lexie shrugged. "Can't keep it a secret forever, Mav."

After we got to the airport, I texted Mya but had no response back. "You, okay?"

I looked at Cam and nodded. "I'm fine."

"Bullshit, what's going on?"

"My girl hasn't responded."

"Maybe she's busy."

"Yeah, maybe. But I swear to god, I am beyond pissed right now."

"Sorry to say this, but if you didn't hide it from your sister, you could have prevented all of this bullshit."

"Easier said than done. I am sure that Callie is pissed at me."

"Just forget about them for now, alright? We have games this weekend, that is what you need to focus on. Not your sister.

Once we arrived at Anaheim, I texted Mya and it did not deliver, and the call went straight to voicemail. Why she was ghosting me like this considering the fact that I did tell her really was a surprise, but I could only hope that she wouldn't be pissed at me for whatever reason.
