CHAPTER 31:
Lyle William's POV
This is it. This might be the end of everything. I hope not. Pero hanggang kailan ba ko aasa? Bullshit, ang drama.
I went inside the place where we usually meet every time we want to hang out. Big Belly Burger. And there I saw Zev. Tulala... but she still looks so beautiful.
I cherish my time just staring at her. Cause this might be the last time.
"Hi, dude!" bati ko sabay beso. Nagulat ko ata siya.
"D-dude. You're here."
"Sorry, kanina ka pa?" umiling lang siya habang nakatitig sakin ng mabuti. "What? Gwapo ko ba? Di ka na nasanay!" pabiro kong hirit.
She frowned dahil dun kaya I chuckled.
"So what's up?" maang-maangan kong tanong.
"Lyle..."
"Order muna kaya tayo?" lihis ko sa topic. You can't blame me. This thing hurt. "Waiter!"
"Lyle. Pwede hear me out—"
"Anong sayo?"
She breathed out. And mouthed okay to herself and answered,"The usual."
I smiled when I hear her say.
"Kuya, 2 double cheesy burger nga. For the drinks, pineapple ha."
"Okay, sir! Coming up!" the waiter said.
"So how are you?" I asked Zev.
"I should be the one asking you that, Lyle. You've been so out of your element these past few days. What's happening to you? Stop making us worry."
I can't help but smile while staring at her as she rants about me being away. I love knowing that she's worried about me. I know, I know that she said "us".
"Huy, lyle. Ano ba?!"
I laughed. "Bakit ba?"
"Anong bakit ba? Hellooo, kanina pa kaya ako rant ng rant dito." pagtataray niya. Namiss ko ang supladang Zev.
Biglang dumating yung food kaya hindi ko siya agad nasagot. Our attention was immediately atuned to the double cheesy burgers infront of us. And indeed, I must have been so blessed to be saved by the food (bell).
After minutes of talking about everything under the sun. Parang dati lang, walang katapusang kwento. Parang walang nangyari. Patay malisya.
