Part 10 - For the Dancing And The Dreaming

Y/N POV:

How could I be so stupid! I left Hiccup for one second and he was gone.
I searched for hours shouting his name and getting more and more worried.
Stoicks going to kill me.
Speak of the devil, I saw Stoick and Gobber flying over to me
"Lass where is Hiccup?" Stoick called
"I-I lost him I'm so sorry I took my eyes off him for one second and he was gone. Sorry sir" I sighed
"Lassie don't worry. I of all people know he can be a handful but now we can look together!"
"Thank you Chief," oh my gods I had never felt so relieved in all my life. I honestly thought he was going to kill me I can't lie.
"Come on we need to look closer to the sea!" Gobber shouted through the wind.

LOOKING FOR HICCUP TIME SKIP

After a few hours of looking we all started to get tired.
"Amethyst I swear we are never finding him and it's all my fault," I whispered to my dragon receiving an encouraging coo in reponse.
"Y/n it's okay we'll find him," Stoick said, as if he could read my thoughts.
Suddenly Skullcrusher (Stoicks dragon) started to dive towards the sea while Stoick struggled to hold him back
"Woah Skullcrusher. What has gotten into you?" He said.
"Stoick, remember he's a tracker class he might know where Hiccup is just let him go, he might be trying to show us something," I said calmly. I could feel so much hope building in my chest
"Alright then Skull crusher off you go!" Stoick exclaimed.
We dived down towards the icy sea and Stoick spotted something in the water
"It's Hiccups helmet!" He shouted in delight
"Go Skullcrusher take us to my boy," he said patting his dragon.
Skullcrusher roared and shot forward with me and Gobber following behind.
We came to this ice building type of thing and slowly made our way inside.
We all went our separate ways.

Stoicks POV:

I found Hiccup and slowly made my way behind him, covering his mouth as he tried to get out my grasp. Toothless turned around and started getting ready to fire after hearing the commotion
"Easy now it's just me," I said to Toothless whilst letting Hiccup go
"Are you kidding me! How did you get in here?" Hiccup said
"The same way we're getting you out," I replied
"We?" Hiccup questioned.
"Come on Hiccup let's go Gobber and Y/n are here too we need to go back and get them," I whispered
"Dad wait there's something I need to tell you!"
"Son not now, tell me on the way,"
"Dad this isn't really an on the way descovery... more of the earth shattering - development - variety,"
"Yeah just add it to the pile," I whisper shouted as i squeezed through a small opening.
"Dad unlike most surprises I spring on you, this is one you'll like I-I promise," hiccup stammered
"You just have to handle it delicately" he finished.
I kept walking and saw Gobber and Y/n staring in awe at something
"Uh you might want to take this one," Gobber said patting me on the shoulder
"Huh?" I replied before walking into the gap, drawing out my sword as Hiccup shouted after me. And that's when I saw her my Valka... my everything. I couldn't find the words. I dropped my sword out my hand and started walking over to her
"I know what you're gonna say, Stoick" she started speaking as I just kept staring at my love
" how could I have done this... stay away all these years and why didn't I come back to you? To our son? Well what sign did I have that you could change Stoick! That anyone on Berk could? I pleaded so many times to stop the fighting, to find another answer. But did any of you listen?" She spoke softy but I couldn't reply I just kept walking.
"I know I left you to raise Hiccup alone, but I thought he'd be better off without me... and I was wrong I see that now but, oh stop being so stoic, Stoick, go on. Shout, scream, say something!" She shouted as I cupped my hand over her soft cheek
"You're as beautiful as the day I lost you" I whispered softly.
I pulled her in for a kiss and her eyes softened.

Y/n POV:

I couldn't help myself but pull Hiccup in for a hug and smile at his mother and father's reunion. They were finally going to be a family again.
Hiccup explained how much Berk had changed whole Valka and Stoick cooked
"Your sons changed Berk for the better. I think we done well either way this on Val," Stoick said
Valka dropped some fish and her dragon, Cloudjumper who was an amazing Stormcutter ate it before gagging it back up and giving some to Toothless and Amethyst.
"Once you move back in, with all your dragons oh Drago won't even stand a chance!" Hiccup exclaimed. I love seeing him happy was all I could think.
"Slow down son it's a lot to take in," Stoick said as Valka went to get some water.
Stoick became to whistle a tune which I knew all too well - For the Dancing And The Dreaming -

"Oh I love this one," Gobber said as me, Hiccup and him sat on a log in-front of Gobbers dragon Grump.
Stoick continued whistling and walked over to Valka, taking the jug of water out her hand.
"Remember our song Val?" He said softly as Valka stood facing the other way. Then Stoick began singing softy
'll swim and sail on savage seas
With ne'er a fear of drowning
And gladly ride the waves of life
If you will marry me," he pulled Valkas face to face him.
"No scorching sun nor freezing cold
Will -" "-will stop me on my journey," Gobber joined in before the chief sent him a look as if to tell him to shut up "sorry"
me and Hiccup also gave him a look as if to say what on earth Gobber.
Stoick continued,
"If you will promise me your heart" he sang, taking Valkas hand in his
"And love..." he stopped giving Valka a chance to join in
"And love me for eternity" she joined
"My dearest one, my darling dear
Your mighty words astound me
But I've no need for mighty deeds
When I feel your arms around me," they started to dance as the tempo sped up
"But I would bring you rings of gold
I'd even sing you poetry"
"Oh who you?"
"And I would keep you from all harm
If you would stay beside me"
"I have no use for rings of gold
I care not for your poetry
I only want your hand to hold" valka sang,
"I only want you near me" Stoick continued
"To love and kiss to sweetly hold
For the dancing and the dreaming" Gobber started dancing along dragging me and Hiccup with him
"Through all life's sorrows and delights
I'll keep your laugh inside me
I'll swim and sail a savage seas
With ne'er a fear of drowning
And gladly ride the waves so life
And you will marry me!" They finished together as Gobber held the last note
" Meeeeeeeeee! I'm still going, I'm done"
" I thought I'd have to die before we had that dance again," Stoick said with delight written all over his face
"No need for drastic measures," Valka said with a chuckle
"For you my dear anything," Stoick said getting down on one knee as Toothless pushed Valka into him causing them both to laugh whilst Hiccup walked over and I stayed with Gobber.
"We could be a family! What do you say?" Stoick asked Valka
"Yes" she said softly
"Thank Odin you didn't listen to me son, we never would have found each other," Stoick said to Hiccup, walking away with Valka. I walked over to Hiccup
"Oh my gods Hiccup this is amazing!" I said with glee
" I know Y/n and I'm sorry about what I said earlier,"
"Hiccup it's alright you were doing the right thing and if you never you wouldn't have found your mum!" I said reassuring him
" thank you Y/n... for everything" he said leaning in closer to me before closing the gap as our lips lightly touched.
I felt my face go red but returned the gesture kissing him back. We pulled away before I spoke again
" thank you too Hiccup, you've gave me a life I always wanted-"
Before I could finish we heard dragons shrieking and Toothless and Amethyst started to growl
"Guys what's wrong?" Me and Hiccup said at the same time.
All the dragons started to flee out the nest and we began to feel something hitting the walls. Valka ran out to see what was going on and there was 100s of ships coming towards the ice nest and people were shouting fire balls at it.
"Val, Val it's alright we're a team now. What do you want to do?" Stoick said grabbing her arm as she walked inside
"We have to save the dragons" she replied
"Aye you got it, come on guys!"
