Arriving at the mans home, he tells Tanjiro to climb the mountain and return before sunrise. After that he takes you and Nezuko into the home where he gives Nezuko a futon to rest on before focusing his attention on you.

In Tomioka's letter, he mentioned the boy and his sister, but he also mentioned the blind girl who has gone through training before that managed to elude his detection until she spoke up. Urokodaki was intrigued when he read the letter and when he saw you in person he was a bit hesitant to believe such words until you managed to keep up with him effortlessly despite being blind.

"Do you wish to become a demon slayer?" He breaks the silence after a few moments.

"I do."

He hums in thought. "You've had previous training, so why are you not already one?"

"I failed to learn my masters breathing technique." You answer truthfully. "I was able to learn everything else but that."

"And have you tried any other breathing techniques?" When you shake your head he continues. "I will train you to use water breathing, and if you cannot then I will help you develop your own technique. I believe you'll be able to learn during your time here."

"I look forward to learning under you, Urokodaki-San." You bow your head slightly before straightening up.

"I hope you do not mind, but I have a personal question I would like to ask." He begins to shuffle around the room as he starts making dinner. Once you give him the go ahead, he continues. "How long have you been blind?"

"I believe it's been seven years now. I became blind when I was nine."

"So you've had plenty of time to get used to it. And were you blind during your training?" When you confirm he nods before pausing to think. "Would you mind explaining how you trained?"

You tell him the details without complaint. How you would train your speed and strength by swinging a sword and running around the woods. How you memorized your surroundings to get around easier before you eventually became able to sense your surroundings. You even explain how you can 'see' by using your feet to feel your surroundings.

To say Urokodaki was impressed would be an understatement. You must be an extremely determined girl to work so hard despite losing your sight. You learned how to overcome many different obstacles and he knows that with time you'll overcome being unable to use a technique.

Urokodaki begins preparing dinner after that. You offer to help and he hesitantly allows you to. As you chop the vegetables quickly and efficiently, he finds himself once again impressed by you. You certainly don't seem like the type of person to let anything hold you back from your goals.

"How long have you known them?" Urokodaki questions, referring to the Kamado siblings as the two of you continue to prepare dinner.

"Only a few weeks." You swipe the vegetables from your cutting board into the boiling pot. "Tanjiro took me in when he found me wandering around his village. I didn't plan to stay for long but his family was very persuasive."

"And what made you decide to join him on his journey?" He hums as he stirs the soup.

Sighing, you advert your gaze towards the fire, your right eye barely able to see the flickering light through your blurred vision. "I grew a bit attached in my short amount of time with them. That, and I'm the only person they have now aside from each other. I would feel horrible if I abandoned them so soon after losing their family."

He nods in understanding. "I'm sure you all will accomplish great things together. I will try my best to train you and the boy for Final Selection."

You smile thankfully at him before perking up a bit as you sense Tanjiro approaching. The door slams open as he appears, breathing heavily. You can tell from his panting that making it down the mountain was no easy task. It's likely that Urokodaki did something to make the task harder in order to determine if the person is worthy of becoming his student. And it appears that Tanjiro passed as Urokodaki claims he'll take him on as his student.

"Congrats, Tanjiro!" You smile brightly at him before patting the space next to you. "Come sit and eat. You'll need the energy for training."

Tanjiro tiredly plops down next to you, thankful to be able to rest after his horrible journey down the mountain. Sitting next to you makes him feel even better as you hand him a bowl filled with delicious soup, a small smile on your face as your eyes shine warmly from the fire. The golden glow flickers beautifully over you and he can't help but to blush slightly at the sight.

"How was the trip down the mountain?" You question, unknowingly breaking him out of his thoughts as he realizes he was staring at you.

"A lot harder than I expected." Tanjiro sighs before sipping at the soup, his tense body relaxing as the warm broth soothes him. "The air is a lot thinner here than back home."

"Is it?" You tilt your head curiously. To you, the air feels the same. Granted, you haven't gone up the mountain yet.

The two of you continue to chat throughout dinner before heading to bed. You both lay on your own futons on either side of Nezuko, said girl already asleep. This will be the first night the three of you sleep beneath a roof together since the night before you and Tanjiro left to sell coal. It'll certainly be different without everyone else there.
