Twenty-Six

Shortly after entering the house, you're all separated. The children had run into the building right after the three of you entered, claiming to have heard noises coming from the box which scared them. Unfortunately this meant Nezuko was left outside alone. As the group began to wander through the house something happened causing Zenitsu to bump against Tanjiro which forced him into a different room with the young girl, that room disappearing moments later.

After that you decided to try and check other rooms in search of Tanjiro but with the rooms constantly changing your senses were struggling to keep up leading to you becoming overwhelmed, which eventually led to you in a room alone separated from everyone else. You take some time to try and let your senses become less overwhelmed before attempting to find the others. With the rooms constantly changing it's nearly impossible though.

The longer you attempted to find your way through the constantly changing building the more your head began to hurt, it beginning to feel heavy and making you feel dizzy. If you could see you're almost certain your vision would be swimming, blurred and distorted from the dizziness. Well, if you could see in the first place you wouldn't be in this predicament so the thought was pointless.

Entering a random room, you lean against the wall before sliding down in order to sit. With the bottom of your feet no longer touching the ground you finally get a much needed break from the overwhelming pressure in your head and eyes. You know a demon could appear at any moment and that you should be more aware of your surroundings, but you couldn't handle it anymore. Without a break you would surely lose it, becoming far too overwhelmed to properly function. You need this break, even if it's only for a few moments.

The break ends sooner than expected as the door next to you suddenly splinters into many pieces. The sound makes you flinch, a painful shock going through your head for a second before disappearing. Whoever or whatever entered the room grunts, mumbling to themselves for a moment before turning around to supposedly exit the way they came. However, they seem to suddenly stop as they finally notice you.

"Huh?! Who the hell are you?!" The boy shouts, obviously shocked at your seemingly sudden appearance. "What are you doing just sitting there?! There's demons here! Stand up, dammit!"

You quickly obey, standing up to face the boy as your senses return. He has an odd shape to him, his body obviously muscular yet his head seems to be that of an animal. You don't get much of a chance to say anything as he's suddenly a lot closer to you, hot air puffing onto your face. "Oh, I see! You have no eyes! I get it!" You let out a squeak of pure shock as the boy suddenly grabs your arm. "Get on my back! Lord Inosuke will get you out of here, no problem!"

Despite not really wanting to, you accept his offer. Going through the mansion alone has been far too difficult for you thanks to your lack of eyesight so you suppose it's good that help arrived even if that help is a stranger that seems rather loud and wild. So, you carefully climb onto his back, hooking your fit together around his hips and your arms around his shoulders, making sure to keep the hold loose enough to not choke him. The position reminds you of when you first met Tanjiro back when he carried you up the mountain to his home. Perhaps that's why you find yourself relaxing into the position despite the oddity of it all.

"Hold on tight! I'm not going to slow down!" Inosuke laughs maniacally as he dashes out of the room. His sudden speed surprises you, making you subconsciously tighten your grip before forcing yourself to loosen it. Inosuke says nothing as he runs, bouncing off of the walls quite literally.

Inosuke goes from room to room in search of the demons residing within the mansion. He eventually pauses in one room, admittedly growing a bit annoyed at still being stuck after being there for so long. You suddenly hear a familiar voice before a door behind you slides open. Inosuke turns ar0und instantly, steam puffing through the nostrils of his mask. Zenitsu doesn't get much of a chance to say anything before Inosuke dashes out the door, bouncing off of the walls before running down the hall.

"Wait a second!" Zenitsu screams, gripping his hair in his tight fists. "Was that (Y/N) on his back?! What was she doing with that monster?!" You mentally apologize to Zenitsu as you hear his screams, knowing there's not much else you can do in this situation.

Inosuke continues to cackle as he runs, and you start questioning if you made the right decision. "Better watch out, cause ready or not, here I come!" Inosuke bursts through yet another doorway, landing easily despite your added weight. "All right you monster. Die on the battlefield, and serve as my catalyst so that I may become even more powerful and soar to new heights!"

"Infuriating. Just infuriating." Who you're assuming to be the demon speaks, showing his annoyance at Inosuke's appearance.

"Hope you're ready for me, cause I'm coming through!" Inosuke launches at the demon and it's then that Tanjiro notices you resting upon the boars back. He instantly begins to worry about whether or not you're injured, but he forces the thoughts away as the demons strikes its drum making the room spin.

"Teruko! Hold onto the furniture!" Tanjiro calls out, making you realize that he's in the room as well. Relief instantly floods you as you realize that he's alright. You were rather worried when everyone got separated from each other. Tanjiro grunts as Inosuke uses him as a spring board. "That demon has special powers! You shouldn't be attacking it so recklessly!"

Inosuke, like the maniac you're starting to understand he is, laughs. There's two quick taps on a drum before the room starts spinning once more and you're incredibly grateful to be on Inosuke rather than standing on your own as falling through the air would be certain doom for you, unable to see where to land or to avoid. You do feel a bit bad, however, as he places his foot atop Teruko's back making the girl whimper in pain.

"I can't believe the room spun around! Now, this is what I call a fun time!"

Tanjiro moves forward and grabs Inosuke's leg, pulling his foot up forcefully. "Get your dirty feet off of her!"

It seems he either had faith in Inosuke's ability to land or completely forgot you were on his back as he tosses the boar aside. Thankfully Inosuke lands on his feet without problem. "Who the hell are you, kid?"

"Stepping on a little kid like that! What are you thinking?!" Tanjiro scolds the boy as he holds Teruko in his arms to keep her safe.

Inosuke laughs for what seems like the millionth time, the sound burning itself into your mind with how much you've heard it. "You got spunk. I like that. Having a human send me flying, that's a first for me!" You yelp as he leaps forward in attempt to attack Tanjiro. "These swords do a lot of damage. They're not the kind you delicate little flowers would use.The way they shred through flesh is what I pride myself on the most."

"This is foolish! There's a demon right there!"

"You think I care?! Hah!" Inosuke goes to attempt to attack Tanjiro once again but you pull back against him just in time, unknowingly helping him avoid an attack the demon made. Inosuke has no choice but to ignore his want to fight Tanjiro as he jumps around the room with each beat against the drum.

After one particular drum beat Inosuke is thrown through one of the doors, landing right on top of you. "(Y/N)!" Tanjiro yells in worry as he hears your gasp of pain.

"I'm fine! Just focus on the demon!" You manage to call out to him just before everything changes once again, you and Inosuke no longer near the room.
