Luminous (KNY X READER)

Twenty-Four

A chill sweeps down your spine which sets you on high alert. You barely have a chance to grab Nezuko and Tanjiro, pulling them both safely to the ground before the walls around you all explode. You can't sense what is destroying the place but you can hear a soft jingling noise as it flies by. Keeping Tanjiro and Nezuko covered from the object, you strain to here who is controlling it outside.

"Just like you said, Yahaba! A building appeared where there was nothing before!" A feminine voice laughs, and you can hear the dull thumps of her catching whatever it is she had thrown.

"Seems like they've learned to use the blood demon art well. And is the demon slayer with them? What does this mean? But still Susamaru, the way you do things is childish, and impetuous, but most of all messy. My kimono got all dusty." A male voice speaks, letting you know that there's two of them. You can't sense them with how far from the house they currently are but you can hear them decently well.

"Hush. Thanks to my temari ball, we found them right away. Great! More time to play. And your kimono isn't dirty. You're too fussy."

A temari ball? You strain your thoughts, trying to remember exactly what that is. You never had one growing up but some children in your village did. That was a long time ago, though, so you don't really remember what they look like or anything. However, if it's a ball children play with then surely it isn't strong enough to do so much damage. It must be part of her demon art or something.

Hearing the ball slightly jingling in her hand causes your body to tense up, subconsciously covering Nezuko and Tanjiro with your body even more as you prepare for her to throw the ball again. It bounces wildly around the room and you can't help but to flinch every time you feel the air rushing past you. Since it's flying through the air you can't sense it through your feet so you have no choice but to rely on the sound, along with focusing on the half second contact it has with the walls before bouncing away.

"Yushiro!" Tanjiro suddenly cries out, his voice loud in your ear. You don't remove your focus from trying to track the temari ball but you're sure that Yushiro got hit from the way Tanjiro sounded so panicked. Suddenly, Tanjiro gently pushes you aside, not allowing you to keep protecting him or his sister. "Nezuko! Get the woman asleep back there somewhere safe outside!"

"So the demon slayer with the earrings is you." The female demon with the temari balls speaks up, letting everyone know exactly who they're targeting. Your jaw clenches in anger at the realization that the two demons are after your friend. The temari demon throws her ball once again, specially aiming for Tanjiro now rather than letting the ball go randomly. He tries his best to fight back but no matter what he does he fails to stop the balls.

As he fights, Yushiro slowly begins to heal, recovering just enough to be able to speak. "Lady Tamayo! I told you, didn't I?! From the start, I said not to get involved with the demon slayer! My concealment spell isn't perfect! I can hide a building or the signs or smell of people, but there's no way to hide their existence entirely! And the more there are, the more traces remain, raising the possibility of Kibutsuji finding us! I hate when anyone interferes with the time you and I spend together! I really hate it! I'll never forgive this!"

The female demon laughs. "What are you on about? This is all so much fun! Consider it an honor that I, one of the twelve kizuki, will take your life. Let's keep playing until dawn! Until your life ends!"

The amount of temari balls suddenly increase and you find it nearly impossible to keep track of them. The constant sounds of them jingling paired with them crashing into the house overwhelms your hearing making it difficult to focus on anything else. You desperately want to help Tanjiro fight her but there's nothing you can really do. If you can't track the temari balls then you can't possibly dodge or destroy them. You'd be useless and only make things harder for him if you were to try and help.
