Chapter 8

I met James at the gate and we walked to the park close by.

 "So how long have you been living in America?" James asked as we sat on the swings.

 "Umm.. About 3 years nearly. I moved here when I was 13 so yeah nearly 3 years."

 "You still sound really British so I thought you had just moved" he said laughing.

 "Hilarious. You should hear my dad. He's from Liverpool so he's a proper Scouser" 

 "Really? That's well cool, I've always wanted to meet a Scouser." He said laughing.

 "That's a bit sad not gonna lie"

 "Shush!"

We just sat there on the swings for a bit in silence. It wasn't awkward it was actually really nice, with everything that has happened I think this is what I needed. 

 "Who's your favourite singer?" He said randomly. 

 "Taylor swift for sure." I said straight away .

 "Your a swiftie?" He asked

" Yep! Who's yours? "

"Taylor too and probably my favourite band chase atlantic"

 "Were more alike than I thought" I laughed

 "What just by music taste?" He joked

 " Yess! Music taste is everything! " I said smilling at him 

 "True, true"

 "How often are these parties?" I ask

 " usually theres one every two weeks but I don't go to them all. There a bit boring unless your drinking and stuff. "

 "Do you drink then?"

 " not as much as max. That boy could drink for days" I laugh and smiled.

 "His parents let him do what he wants. I don't think they care to be honest" he said.

 " my dad usually isn't around when I go out, so he doesn't find out. When he is around and finds out usually I just get told not to do it again and that's it. " I say.

 "What about your mom?" He asks. I stay silent for a minute.

 " Shit! Is that a bad subject. Sorry! I shouldn't have asked. " he panics

 "No it's fine"

 "No I shouldn't have asked I'm sorry."

 "Seriously James it's fine. I've only just started living with Scarlett again so I'm not sure what would happen"

 "Oh okay and you call her Scarlett?" 

 " Yep! " I say smiling at him

 "Okayy .My parents don't mind as long as I stay safe and don't get to drunk"

 "That's smart" 

 "Yeah I guess. Shall we start heading back?" He asks standing up.

 I groan and stay sat down. He laughs and grabs my hand pulling me up.

 "Come on weirdo let's go" he says laughing.

I glared at him before running ahead.

 "HEY! WAIT UP! SHIT YOUR FAST" I Laugh and stop running.

 "Why are you so fast?" He says out of breath. I shrugged and laughed.

We got to the gate of Scarlett's house and I turned to james.
