Changes. (Scarlett Johansson x daughter story)

Chapter 27

Scarlett's POV:

The week went by pretty quickly and already Maddie has been living with me for nearly a month. Although I haven't really gotten to know much about her. I have found out that she still hates eating peas and that she has a massive obsessive of energy drinks. Her dad used to be like that too so I guess she's taking after him.

We only ever see Maddie when it's time for school or meals other than that she's just stayes in her room. I've tried to get her to come downstairs and watch a film with us or do something but she doesn't want too. Rose and Maddie have also been practicing a lot and rose seems to be really enjoying spending time with her big sister.

Today was Friday which means the start of the weekend and it also happens to be the day that Maddie is no longer grounded. so I was expecting Maddie to be happy and telling me her plans but instead she seemed the same. 

I finished work early so I decided on my way to pick Maddie up I would buy her some snacks. I got her a packet of these chips I've noticed she likes and a monster energy drink. As much as it's unhealthy it might make her feel better. 

I also have something else planned for today that might make her feel better but since that wasnt happening until later tonight I want to try and make her feel better a bit before hand.

She sat in the car with her earphones in and just stared out the window. I tapped her shoulder to try and get her attention, she flinched back a bit before taking one earphone out and looking up at me. Why did she flinch?

 "I got you these" I say handing her the snacks. She gives me a small smile and thanks me. 

When we get home, Maddie goes straight upstairs. I head into the kitchen hearing Colin and rose laughing together. 

 "Hey babe" Colin says kissing me on the forehead. I smile at him and rose and just sit down at the breakfast bar. Rose runs off to go and say hello to maddie.

 "Is Maddie okay?" He asks me.

 "I don't know Colin, she won't talk to me. She doesn't even want to be in the same room as me. I mean I understand that it's my own fault but... I just want my baby" I say to him. He walks over to me and pulls me into his chest.

 "It is not your fault and I know that you don't believe me but I promise you it isn't. It takes time with Maddie. It takes time to trust someone." I nod at that. He knows more than me.

 "What time are they arriving?" He asks me.

 " In a few hours. They wasn't too sure on a definite time" hopefully my surprise for her will cheer her up.

Rose and Maddie come downstairs. Rose telling her all about her day. They sit next to me.

 "Anyone hungry? Dinner won't be for a while." Colin asks the two. They both shake there heads and went back to there conversation. Me and Colin just smile at each other. this is the longest Maddie has spent with us since last weekend so I'll take it.

Maddie's POV:

This week was shit and I'm so glad that it's finally the weekend. There's a party tomorrow but I cannot be bothered going. As much as I like to get drunk and forget about everything it's also tiring having to socialize before hand. James had also asked me out on another date on Sunday but I don't even know if I can make it to that. I'm just so tired. James helped me a lot this week by telling my teachers I was ill when I didn't turn up to there lessons. Luckily that helped me not get in trouble with Scarlett. Her and me have been arguing a lot lately about school because she doesn't agree on me skipping lessons. I honestly don't care what she thinks. I've hated school since I was a kid. We tried so many different ways for me to go to school. We tried homeschooling, private school, public school, boarding school and none of them worked. The school I go to at the moment is a private school but it's also a lot like a public school. Dad says that school isn't my thing and I agree with that, it's not my thing. 

Rose wanted me to come and spend time with her downstairs so I agreed. This kid is the only person I actually spent time with in this house. Scarlett's been trying to get me out of my room but I don't leave. Colins nice but I don't know him that well. I just want to go back home. 

My aunts haven't responded to any of my messages and it's starting to bug me. I mean I know that there's a big time difference but we used to make it work. so I don't get why it's not now. My aunts are they only people I actually trust and I need to rant to them. Although I think I'm starting to trust Lizzie. I haven't seen her since Tuesday when she picked me up for school but she messages me everyday to see how I am and it's really sweet. Tuesdays are now our thing. She takes me to school and back, and we just chat, sometimes getting food too.

Colin and Scarlett are acting really weird at the moment. We're all sat in the living room watching spongebob due to rose's request but they keep on stealing small glances at each other whenever they think me and rose aren't looking. 

The door bell rings and Colin asks me to get it. I slowly walk to the door. Scarlett and Colin are right behind me. Who the hell is behind the door? It better not be lizzie pretending to be the pizza man again.
