After missing school again, I knew that if I didn't go in today then dad will kill me, so I got up and got ready.

"You going in today?" Scarlett asks me. I nod and get a bottle of water before going to find rose. After what happened yesterday and the night before I didn't want to be near Scarlett. I don't want her to ask any questions or anything and I'm also annoyed at myself for being too close with her.
I sat in Rose's room whilst she was telling me all about her plans for the day. I've realised that if I stay with rose, I don't have to talk or anything, she doesn't mind and I think I'll be needing that since Lizzie isn't here and she's the only other person I know to to do that with me in this place.
Scarlett calls us downstairs and drives us to school. I get out the car and make my way to first class which happens to be maths. Chloe wasn't there so James sat next to me.
"You okay" he asks. I nod and smile at him.
"You sure? You haven't been in" he says.
"I was sick" I say quietly. He nods.
"Oi love birds" max annoyingly says. We turn to him and he smiles.
"Wanna skip next period?" I nod my head in agreement . Fuck school!
The lesson soon ends and me James and max and his friend who I learned to be called Harry make our way to behind the gym. Except not only does max pass round cigarettes but a joint too.
"Max what are you doing? We're in school! Are you trying to get caught?" James asked worryingly. Max laughs and stared at him.
"James I don't give a shit if I get caught. What are they going to do? Call my parents? Yeah like they'd give a fuck" max says grinning. I grab the joint that's been passed to James.
"If your not gonna have some I will" i say smoking it. James gives me a weird look. Like he's worried or something.
"You know Maddie for someone who is in the public eye, you really don't seem to give a shit. Like it my parents were who yours are I don't think I'd be doing what you are doing" max says knowingly.
"You can have them if you like. I don't want them" I say smirking. Max laughs and says maybe.
We stay there for a while just laughing and smoking, getting high. I missed this. The highness. The relief and the fun of it, where I could just forget everything.
James and Harry leave after 2 hours saying that they need to get to class. Me and max stay.
As much as I hate max and he hates me, we both unknowingly understand each other. We both have shitty parents that neglect there kids. And we both depend on the drugs and alcohol to save us from our heads.
"I missed this mads" he says. I smile and nod. Me and max used to do this all the time back when I used to go here, it was like our thing. Evan and Jess never did drugs, they didn't want to get into that habit but I didn't care. I don't care. My life is already fucked up so what's a few drugs and bottles gonna do.
"How come your back here anyway?" He asks.
"Got kicked out for sneaking out and drinking at the boarding school" max nods and passes me the joint. I take it and take a long drag.
"Want a drink?" I nod and he stands up, walking away beckoning me to follow. I
"Where are we going?" I ask as we leave the school site. He ignores my question and leads us to an empty park and passes me a bottle from his bag.
"I don't want to get drunk on school site" he says. I nod and take a sip from the bottle.
An hour later and me and max are off our heads. We start running around making ourselves nearly puke. I get a phone call from Scarlett and Lizzie but I don't answer. I can't let them ruin how happy I am at the moment. I need this highness to last.
After another however long. I feel the highness leave my body and I realise that I need to get back to Scarlett's. I get my phone out and check the time. SHIT! It's nearly 6pm. I finished school 3 hours ago. I tell max I got to go and run back. She's going to kill me.
I take a deep breath as I open the door and am met with a very angry Scarlett.
"What the actually fuck maddie?" she shouts. I wince a little. I'm still drunk and her shouting is hurting my head.
"where have you been?" She shouts.
" School" I lie.
"What? At 6pm?" I nod. She glares at me.
" don't lie Madeline " she says.
"I'll ask again. Where have you been?" She shouts.
" Park" I answer honestly.
"Doing what? Because I really hope that the weed and vodka I'm smelling isn't from you" SHIT! I shake my head.
"Madeline, what the hell are you playing at? she asks angrily.
" Nothing. I needed a break okay? Jeez! It's not that deep" I say walking into the kitchen. Scarlett follows.
"Not that deep. Not that deep. Maddie you are 15 okay? I don't care how it was when you were living with you dad but here, when you are living with me, you can't do that sort of stuff" she says.
"I don't even want to live here" I say back.
" I know. But you are so you follow my rules" I laugh and take a swig of my water.
"Not only are you drunk. You skipped school"
"Actually I did go to maths" I say smirking. She glares at me.
"Wow! I'm so proud" she says sarcastically.
"Madeline if you didn't want to go to school then you could of just said"
"Don't call me that" I warn.
"It's your name" she answers.
"I don't like it okay? You would already know that if you didn't fuck off to America" I say before walking out and going to my room. Okay maybe I was a bit harsh but you know what I don't care. The truth is hard.
