Maddie's POV:
This birthday has definitely been the best birthday I could have ever imagined.
If I could tell younger me that I'd now be spending my birthday with my mum and family she's be so suprised and happy. Although it still feels a little strange being back here with everyone, I couldn't be happier. I've finally got everything that little me could have wished for.
Max, Lily, Evan and James left an hour ago and so did grandma, dad and Chris but everyone else is here. We're sat outside on the sofa bed playing games and just having fun.
Bear is sat on my knee curled up in a ball. He hasn't left my side since Chris brought him. Mum says that he's going to be attached to me and I really hope so because he's the cutest little dog. I gave Lizzie and Chris the biggest hug for getting me him. I absolutely adore him and I'm so thankfully because I've always wanted a dog.
My aunts and cousins are staying for a month in America. Something about my aunt's having work and that Leo and Lily could just do school online for a little bit. Plus I get to spend a week with them because my school is off for winter break.
Tommy fell asleep a few hours ago and so did rose. I mean it is now 11 so I guess that makes sense.
"We better get going. This one needs his bed" Charlie says standing up carrying Tommy. Allie and Becca agree although Lily and Leo don't look impressed.
"But we haven't done our annual birthday tradition" Leo says smirking. I glare at him and try to hide behind my mum.
"What's the tradition?" Lizzie asks laughing at my attempt of hiding.
"we'll show you" Lily tells her. I quickly stand up and bear barks at me for disturbing his beauty sleep.
"No I just washed my hair" I shake my head at tweedle dee and tweedle dumb. They laugh and run towards me.
I run further into the garden and look around for a hiding spot.
"Come on Maddie it's a tradition" I glare at him.
"Its Stupid" Lily grabs my hand and pulls me with her.
"Come on Maddie. Let's go on a little walk" they walk me towards the pool and stop when we get in close range.
"Wow look at how pretty the water is" Lily says.
"Yeah do you want a better look Maddie?" I shake my head but they ignore and push me in.
Luckily I can swim and I quickly pull my head up from the water and smirk at them.
I grab Leo's leg and he goes in the water with a yelp he also takes Lily with him.
"Yes! Double points" I say laughing at Lily's disgusted face.
"That's your fault Leo! Why'd you pull me with you" Lily and Leo start bickering about who's fault it was and I jump out of the pool and go and join the adults.
"Your children are drowning" I tell Allie and Becca. They laugh and shake their heads.
"We heard" Becca says. They should be more concerned about them but they're used to our usual antics so they expect nothing less.
I smirk at my mum and walk up to her.
"Hi mama. Wanna a hug" she shakes her head and glares at me.
"do not Madeline" I shake my head and pout.
"you don't want a hug mama? "
I step closer to her and hug her lying my head on her chest. Just for extra measures I also shake my wet hair so she gets more water on her.
I stand up and straighten out my hair before turning to lizzie who's laughing at mum.
"You want a hug olsen?" I know not to go near my aunt's from last time.
Before I can hug Lizzie, Leo and Lily walk over still arguing. Which makes me laugh because I pulled them both in but they're to busy arguing with each other to realise.
"Okay you wet animals let's get you home" Becca tells the two standing up.
My aunts give me a kiss on the head before leaving with the two idiots Lizzie also goes but I give her a hug before hand. Mum takes rose up to bed and I go have a shower and get ready for bed.
Mum walks in my room and lies next to me. She wraps her arm around me and kisses me on the forehead.
"You had a good birthday?" I nod.
"Thank you mum. It's been great. and I got bear" who speaking off is lying at my feet. I did try to put him in his own bed but he soon jumped up on mine so I just let him stay there.
"Yeah? I'm glad you've had a good time. But you do know he's going to be sleeping on your bed every night now"
"I know"
I begin to feel sleepy and snuggle more into her arms.
I'm surprised how easy it is for me to be able to her fall asleep in my mum's arms. Usually it takes me ages to go to sleep but all I need to do is her lay in her arms and automatically my body is on shut down. I guess she just has that safe vibe and it's like my body knows that if I'm in her arms I'm safe.
