As far as you can remember, you were born an orphan, you don't have any parents to speak of, you live alone and no matter how hard you try you can't remember anything from your childhood. Not even mentioning his fire powers that he hates and wishes...
Adrian, Dustin and Olivia all go into the basement to see how Cole is doing.
"Hey when did you get here anyway?" Adrian asks.
"Oh me? I just got here when you were in the basement." Dustin responded.
"Ah I see, didn't mean to yell at you right when you got here, my bad." Adrian says.
"It's alright, I came here to tell you something but I think it can wait." He says.
"Alright Adrian, you said he responded to you? Show me." Olivia says.
He nods his head and walks over to Cole and grabs his hand.
"Hey Cole, can you hear me?"
He feels a squeeze on his hand once again
"He squeezed my hand again!" Adrian says excited.
Another squeeze, stronger this time.
"This is good right?" Adrian asked.
"Yes this is good, considering his injuries, I thought he would be unresponsive for much longer, but he's quite a fighter. This could have something to do with you actually." Olivia says looking at Adrian.
"With me? How?" He questions.
"Since I have healing powers and your father has water powers, it's possible you inherited both of them and they fused." Olivia explains.
"Oh, Ohhh I didn't even think about that haha, I guess I did carry him here using a water construct so it sorta make sense." Adrian realized.
"Exactly, and it seems yours is more potent than mine as well." Olivia says with a smile.
"So I helped in his recovery? Awesome." Adrian speaks proudly.
"Oh hey since were on the subject I have something I want to show you guys." Dustin speaks up.
"Hm? Oh yeah you had something to tell me?" Adrian said.
"Ok I'm not sure when this happened but look at this."
Dustin rubs his middle finger and thumb together and releases them, revealing electricity running between them.

"Whoa what the, you have powers?" Adrian exclaims surprised.
"Yeah I guess so heh." Dustin said.
"When were you gonna tell me about this??" Adrian questions.
"Well I didn't really want to bother you because, you know, but I don't know I thought I'd come over today at least and see how your doing, I honestly didn't plan on telling you this today." Dustin explained.
"Oh I see, well that's nice of you but you shouldn't worry about me so much D." Adrian says jokingly.
"D-Did you just call me D?" Dustin says confused.
"What an interesting development, I've only ever seen something like this once before." Olivia suddenly says.
Dustin and Adrian both look at her curiously.
"There was one time I had a patient who went through a traumatic event and after he awoke from his surgery he had suddenly developed powers and had no idea how to control them, that was one hectic day haha."
Olivia explained to Adrian and Dustin's bemusement.
"So basically what I'm saying is, although it's rare, when some people undergo a traumatic experience this awakens the latent prowess in them and they gain some sort of power or ability." She finished.
"I see." Dustin says as the electricity fizzles out.
"Hm, I guess this situation wasn't all bad then huh? At least one of us got something out of it." Adrian tries to be cheerful.
"Heh, I guess so." Dustin mumbled.
"Oh I'm sorry Dustin I didn't mean to upset you." Olivia tries to comfort him.
"No that's not it, it's just.. Cole was affected in a much more drastic way than I was, he doesn't deserve this." Realizing what he said Dustin starts fidgeting with his hands.
"Well that's good to hear, and I'm sure Cole is happy to hear that as well." She said cheerfully.
Olivia and the other 2 look at Cole who then squeezes Adrian's hand once more.
