CHAPTER EIGHT

After the teacher distributed the test sheets, only silence could be heard. The test had begun, and the next thing the class could hear was Luan coughing crazy.

He coughed and indirectly told answers one, two, three, four, five and on the sixth one he dropped his pen and picked it up after getting permission from the teacher, he was staring at Luan's soul but Luan didn't know. He didn't kick Clair's seat which was in front of him instead he kicked Diana's, the kick was pretty gentle but noticeable, as the teacher was already suspicious. So as the teacher called Luan's name and walked angrily towards his seat, Clair raised her hand high and said "Sir! I have finished the test." As for helping them both out, she coughed thrice. The teacher stopped and said: "You both (Luan and Clair) after the test ends, go and see the doctor and stop spreading germs". Clair nodded her head and left the class after she handed over her test. Diana marked the last answer and walked right to the teacher's desk and submitted the test and went out to follow Clair, she ran in the hallway to match Clair's pace. And grabbed one of her shoulders to make her stop. Out of breath, she asked "How did you know the last answer?" "You could have just called my name! Why in the world you ran". Said Clair she was worried. "because I wanted to" Diana replied with a smirk. "oh yes about that answer, it was in my memories from one of the lectures," Clair said while flipping her hair off her shoulders proudly. "who in the world pays attention to the lecture". Said Diana while she raised one of her brows.

"I, Claire Briar " proclaimed Clair with a bring smile. "Damn" replied Diana in an excited tone.

Then they both walked into the cafeteria for lunch, where Clair bought garlic bread and she brought a snack from home. And for Diana, she bought cheese nachos. They both headed towards the sitting area which was almost fully crowded, Diana saw an empty table for four, so she took Clair's hand and said there's an empty table let's go, as they were sitting on the table facing each other, two guys joined them. Clair first looked at the one beside her, his lunch which was strawberry-flavored milk and chocolate biscuits, and then his face. It was Luan their eyes met as Clair heard Diana talking with the other guy who had nothing in his hands or on the table. "well, it's not us who joined you guys, you were the one who came uninvited." It was Aiden one of their classmates who sits behind Diana and beside Luan "Yeah Whatever! It was unintentional and look at who's talking the one who cheated on the test today" in a provoking tone. Diana was offended "OH GOSH HOW COULD YOU SAY SOMETHING LIKE THIS TO LADY? YOU HAVE NO MANNERS," said Diana to Aiden. And they started a heated argument but in the middle of their argument, Aiden looked at Luan and Clair who were unbothered by those two and eating their lunch peacefully. When Aiden stopped Diana looked where Aiden was looking at, and then they looked at each other and sulked.

When they both were done arguing Diana said "What is in your lunchbox Clair?" Clair moved the lid off the box and it was four brownies, Clair offered all three of them brownies because she saw Aiden had nothing. Diana picked one happily so did Aiden, and moved her lunchbox toward Luan, he asked in a harmonizing tone "Oh I can eat too?". Clair nodded her head, she couldn't say it from her tongue because she was eating bread. Luan took one brownie and took a bite. All three of them excitedly said "ITS DELICIOUS". Three of them got embarrassed, and Clair laughed a bit, to break the awkwardness Diana asked "Did your mother make these?". "No" with a straight face and kept eating, Diana was still looking at Clair as she was waiting for the answer while Clair was eating, when she finished food in her mouth she said "I-" Clair was interrupted by a guy. "Oh, Clair you are here I have something to talk about with you". In an appealing voice, it was Brad. Clair seemed uncomfortable as she said, "I'm not free right now I have a matter to discuss with these three". "I must only take three minutes, and I know you don't have anything to discuss with these three". Said Brad in an annoyed tone. "yes, Clair you go and discuss your matter with him. We sit close anyway so tell us later." Said Aiden smiling. Clair had no choice now, she walked with Brad and said; "what is it?" "Please forgive me, Clair just give me one last chance, I beg you" in a displeasing tone. "You know the last time when I told you that I like you, I meant it.. I-I love y-". "Clair? Time is sup Brad. Let's go ". Brad said "You can't we are in the middle of discu-" Luan grabbed Clair's hand and took her away. Clair said "Wait Luan, I have to answer him" She walked back "Listen, Brad, I'm fed up now, I want no drama around me so stay away from me before I do what you did with me, take it as a final threat for you". Brad couldn't look her in her eyes. She left along with Luan.

BEFORE LUAN WENT TO TAKE CLAIR:

"You stupid idiot! Oh gosh, you are so dumbass that you couldn't play along." Said Diana angrily. Aiden was still clueless, he wanted to help because of the brownie Clair gave him. "Go and bring her back". Aiden replied, "Why would I? She is your friend so you should go, it would be weird for me". Diana replied "You couldn't hear what he said, if I go I won't be able to bring her here, so just g-". she was about to complete saying when Luan got up and said "What was his name again?" sincerely. "Brad the brat" replied Diana.
